Indian guy called from this number. Said he was with Windows operating system, said some bad files were recently put on my computer, so he would help me fix it.I strung him along for five minutes, as he gave me tedious instructions to get me to Command Prompt, and type in a command, after he rattled off a large string of letters and numbers I interrupted with 'I just reported you to local law enforcement. You're in trouble'He proceeded to call me a 'son of a b,' and said my mother does some very unsavory things with the neighbors. It made it that much more satisfying to waste his time and get him all riled up. Scammers are so scummy
I had a call from someone with a Pakistani accent supposed "IRS" that we needed to call by the end of the day. It was urgent that we speak with them about money owed. Very threatening. Then I had a call today that windows on my computer was making or sending errors. I told him I don't own a computer. I heard him speak to someone, repeat the message to me and I told him again, I don't have a computer. He called me a liar and said because of that they could not help me! Hysterical
Of course I'm annoyed that I have my # listed on the Do Not Call Registry, but I still get [***] scammers calling me practically every day, like this one who just called. I just said I don't appreciate scammers, I never, ever give money to scammers by falling for their [***], so they may as well not waste both our time by calling me back. I write down the #s and report them to the FTC Do Not Call complaint forum. It's about all I can do besides applying my air horn into the ears of these offenders before I hang up on them, or just letting the answering machine pick up the call. Maybe if the FTC got millions of complaints from pissed off regular folks, they would find a solution. Hey! I have a solution. Get the gov't to pressure the phone companies to deny these scam artists telephone service. Get multiple complaints? Shut 'em down! Of course, the phone companies are making money...I'm sure these perpetrators are paying their bills, so as long as the phone companies are making their money, I guess no one really gives a rat's [***] if these people are criminals trying to rip people off.My advice is:#1 DON'T FALL FOR THE SCAMS - if no one allowed them to profit, they wouldn't be doing it!#2 Register your # with the Do Not Call Registry, and report the scammer phone #s. Maybe, just maybe...if the FTC was flooded with millions upon millions of complaints....they might just lift a finger to try and solve the problem! Then again, when government and doing something effective and positive are concerned, maybe I'm just hoping for too much.
Answered phone some garbled words then was disconnected. Tried to return the call using the caller ID number 14824589112 and the call would not go thru. Sounds like a scam caller to me.
You probably are able to block these calls. I have Verizon in NY & Century Link in Florida & both companies have a service that allows you to block calls from certain numbers.
Did not answer. Called at 6am! Received another call from PRIVATE CALLER 2 days earlier at 6am which I answered and it was a foreigner and he said something about my computer. I hung up on him.
A man with a thick accent also told me he was from windows and receiving warning messages from my computer. When asked, he said hi name was Jason and he was from "Baldera Tech" company. I was aware of his scam and told him to place me on the do not call list. He told me he would do it if I told him I loved him! I refused and he then told me he wouldn't put me on the dnc list unless i told him i loved him! I said no ad the he proceeded to get VERY obscene! I hung up immediately! My biggest concern is what thee people may say to children!
This Asian lady called me saying that it was a call from the US government and that I have a grant that I can use for anything like school , buy a house, etc., then I asked her "where did you get this number from? "She continued telling me about the money, and I asked her again the question like four times and she hung up on me.
I just got a call from this number. it says "International" in the Caller ID area,so of course I didn't pick up, and no message was left. You can report these calls to the FCC, just go to their website and follow the prompts.
