Yes, it is Macy's customer service in Mason, Ohio. They call to confirm orders placed on the internet. What a pain! Since I didn't feel comfortable giving her information over the phone, she's now cancelling my order and said I needed to call the fraud department to reinstate it.Won't be ordering from Macy's anymore! I do appreciate a fraud check, but everyeon always warns you NOT to give information over the phone!
Actually I received a call yesterday from this number and alls it was was them verifying that I made a purchase on line at macys.com-it was to protect me-because I have an account on line but I was ordering for my mom because she doesn't have a computer-so they noticed it was a different first name and credit card number-the caller couldn't have been more polite and actually apologetic that she called me-I was glad she did because what if it wasn't a legitimate order- (I've had that happen before). If they asked you for a name that you didn't recognize, then it could of been someone ordering merchandise giving an incorrect address, or some one that gave your number or address to get out of paying a bill. I don't think there is any malicious intent on their part. AND NO I DO NOT WORK FOR MACY's.
They really are the credit department for Macy's, Bloomingdales, and VISA though they may have the wrong number for the person they are looking for - they called for someone who lived here years ago - basically they call all known numbers for the person. Spoke with a very nice woman today (who immediately answered what company she was with when I asked) after someone called and left a message 'about a very important business matter' and she helped to figure out who they were calling about then deleted my phone number as that person's contact. Did not ask me for any account numbers, just name that they called about, phone number they called, and then street address when she couldn't find the right info with the first 2 pieces of info.
I received a call today from this number and it IS Macy's credit card fraud department. They were verifying a gift card purchase I had made earlier today. I am grateful they do this. I'd rather answer this call than get the bill with a bunch of unverified purchases. Good work Macy's.
False Claims – Credit Dunning for not our account MCCS - Macy's Credit and Customer ServiceMacy's & Bloomingdales [credit accounts factored to Citicard] - They fail to take appropriate actions in verifying credit card application data so that you can have them call you claiming that you owe them - Macy's, Bloomingdale's - money on a card which may be in $1000s but it is not your card - just your phone number for an account that was opened in a totally different state from your number/home - They are terrible - absolute failure to verify data! I too received a call from this number. I was instantly suspicious and was sure this supposed rep from Macy's was soon going to ask me to repeat my credit card number to him..yeah right! To my surprise, he went on to explain that a red flag had gone up because someone had placed an internet order with my card and express shipped it somewhere other than my address. He was just placing a courtesy call to let me know my account had been compromised and that I should call the credit card company. I did and he was right.
I have not recieved any phone calls from macys but I just wanted to say as a previous employee please be respectful of the agents that are calling you. If you are being contacted by macys/bloomingdales its becuase you have either placed an order or someone used your info to placce an order and they just want to verify that its not fraud. Or you owe them money. If they call and you have not done any business with macys it could be because they have the wrong phone number for a customer. Macys does not do "cold calling" (calling random people) So instead of complaining about phone calls stop and make sure that someone hasn't placed an order under your info or tried to open a credit card with your info.
Yes- this is legitimate, Macy's just alerted me to fraudulent activity on one of my credit cards. I am thankful.
This number is an auto dialer that calls idiots, the lazy and deadbeats who don't pay their bills on time
Though this number is legit for Macy's credit services, it seems that Macy's is using not so legit practices to collect money. We were getting a call daily from this number and I would pick the phone up, tell the caller we have never had a Macy's card and ask to be removed from the calling list. One caller even said they would send the info to their fraud department. The calls did not stop. After months, I finally got a competent person on the phone that dug a little deeper and discovered that the person they were trying to collect money from had the same first and last name as my husband but the middle initial was different. I then told him our street name which verified that they had the wrong person. It seems that Macy's credit services will find people via public information (i.e. phone book) and if you have the same name as their delinquent customer, you will start getting harassed, even if it's not you!!! So, if this happens to you, verify the middle initial. So annoying and seems illegal!!!
