CENLAR hold my mortgage, i have never had a phone call from them till yesterday...a man wanted to know why i had not paid my March mortgage, I panicked--thinking i had forgotten...i found the bill, it was sitting on a desk to go out, i was not late and asked why I should get this call when i have been late only twice in 20 years...he said he had no record of my payment and that it was due on march 1st...i told him that its always been due on March 28th and that i usually paid in the grace period because of pay structure...He DID NOT KNOW--THAT MY PAYMENT WAS DUE AT THE END OF THE MONTH. HE stammered and said 'uh...oh,,,i assumed they were all due on the 1st' I asked if he worked for Cenlar or if they had contracted an outside agency...he said he worked for Cenlar...I stated that i wanted to speak to a manager...he said "Of course you do" and hung up! Does Cenlar have a SECURITY BREACH? DOES SOME CLOWN NOW HAVE MY PHONE NUMBER AND MORTGAGE INFO..OR IS CENLAR AND THE AGENCY HACKS THAT THEY HIRE JUST DO BAD BUSINESS?
This is a SPAM call. I saw these comments and contacted my lender who I just did a Refi with. They said do NOT give any information. I have never been late on a payment. Dont fall for it !
LEGITI received several calls from this number with no voicemail and checked online. People reported scammers pretending to be their mortgage agency.I contacted my loan agency and provided the phone number and they verified that it was, in fact, one of their phone numbers, calling to verify information on my new loan.
When I see the number I do not answer any more we are a business I have caller ID I also do not have time for nonsense :)
I have received multiple calls from this number. As soon as I answer the call gets disconnected. Have called me twice this week. When I call back, number is only used for outgoing calls.
Soooooo tired of the increasing number of unsolicited calls. There HAS to be something providers can do to filter these annoying intrusions.
This number represents a few companies. Most Lasalle Bank and they usually just try to leave a prerecorded message that says "Please call Lasalle Bank at 1 -800 whatever." They usually call during the day when no-one would usually be home and leave the recorded message on your machine. They are a legit company but just a pain in the way they want to contact you. Its there job to get you on the phone and then they connect u to the lender.
i think i can clear this up for the most part. i see from the comments that lasalle bank seems to be the primary company behind this, as well as some others. my call from this number was regarding my mortgage at centennial bank. this is from their collections department; so if you see this number on caller id someone at least thinks you've missed a payment. i suspect this call center handles the same type of services for the other banks mentioned. having worked in a call center, i can tell you that collections and telemarketing departments of large companies use auto-dialer systems. the auto-dialer computers only transfer the call to an actual person when they get a "live" phone number, so there is a pause when that happens where no one can hear you. this keeps the customer service person from hearing tons of fax tones and disconnected messages, etc, they would encounter if they were sitting there dialing numbers themselves. so there isn't any scamming related to this number, it is a legitimate business of some kind calling.

Also the auto-dialer is constantly dialing out as soon as a call is transfered so no incoming calls can come in; you just get that message instead of a busy signal. so there isn't any scamming related to this number, it is a legitimate business of some kind calling.
