I received a call from rose international 636-812-0221, same thing that they saw my resume and they have a job for me and the guy went on all my information on the resume (wanted to know my entire name) and say that he would email me the info right away and he never did. ???
I got a call from a guy who said he was with a recruiting firm and hadseen my posted resume. Phone number was 636-812-0221. He barely spokeEnglish. Said he had a job for me with Bank Of America. I tried to pinhim down on where he was located. I asked him for his corporate address. When he couldn't answer, I told him I wasn't interested
This is Rose International. They recruit for the operations side of what used to be Countrywide (bought by Bank of America). Their jobs will all be in the processing and operations side of the Mortgage industry. They are legit, but all of their positions are temp-to-hire, as far as I know.If you didn't get an email response, it's probably because the turnaround on filling these positions is usually about 24 hours. The position they called you about probably got filled while they were on the phone with you.
Rose Int. called twice in two minutes, then I received an email 2 minutes after that(on my blackberry). Email:From: Bill Swaroop 6690Urgent Job Opening for you ( Construction Manager/ Estimator) // Beltsville,MD //58863He found my resume on Job Portal (I never posted on that site, or heard of it) And the job is a term Starts 7/22/09 ends 1/1/10. WTF??? Damn recruiters...Here's his number if any1 wants to call him: Office 636.812.4000 ext.6690Fax 636.812.0078email BSwaroop@roseint.comwww.roseint.comRose International16401 Swingley Ridge Rd. Sorry - I disagree about the legality of asking for a social security number. NEVER PROVIDE it. I have worked for both large corporations and tech consulting companies and have never given my social security number to ANYONE prior to filling out the background check after I was offered the job.
Interesting, I received the same call with the same information that you mention. What is ironic about this is I am a former Bank of America associate and was wondering why Rose International would be calling me about a position at the bank where I just left....I am curious about this. The person had a very heavy accent and I could barely make out his name.
It is not illegal for anyone to ask anyone for his/her SSN. It is, however, illegal for anyone to "require" that one have a SSN or require SSN before anyone has 1) accepted a job. 2) Before an employee has earned wages. 3) Before an employee is receiving pay for wages earned. It is illegal for anyone to require that an employee have a SSN. The Social Security Act is a "voluntary" program. Write a letter to the Social Security Administration and ask for name and number of the law and Social Security Administration will tell you: "The Social Security Act does not require a person to have an SSN to live and work in the United States, nor does it require an SSN simply for having one." I can document this because I did send Social Security Administration a letter and did get their response which says exactly what appear here in quotation marks.
I received several calls from this number (Rose International). Most were hangups and one was a barely decipherable message about a possible opportunity. After playing phonetag a few times because of dropped callbacks on their end, I ended up getting called from another consulting firm about the same opportunity so I went with them instead. You have to wonder if Rose International can fill any positions while using such a ragged recruiting team.
Indian recruiter scam - they farm out to call centers in India in order to try to get a referral fee even though those referral fee's are not paid out as they would think. It is pretty much the same thing as spam.
Received call and emails from the number (636) 812-4000, contact was Kevin Rawat (African accent). Said he was offering Bank of America job for $10 an hour on a 6 month contract in Dallas. Asked if it was okay if he sent my resume to them. Told him yeah, about 1 1/2 months later he contacted me saying they reviewed it and asked if I was still interested and pay is actually $10.50. Told him yeah even though I had a higher paying position starting later that week, said he would let them know and more than likely call me back the same day. He did call back but I was busy, he called repeatedly asking me to call back to give him more info (not sure what "more info" HE needed....I think I needed more info like start time, address, etc.). I tried emailing him but his email no longer works (hmmmm). Anyway, I finally got in touch w/him 3 days later but the position was filled I guess. Also, a few days after initial contact, he wanted to send my info to AT&T for a $15 hourly position but needed SSN so AT&T could do some kind of check. I wasn't comfortable w/that, especially since this was to a company that I didn't even apply to but they ran across my anonymous profile on CareerBuilder. He in turn emailed me a pdf of an "official" statement on AT&T letterhead stating why they needed the SSN. I looked around online and the same letter has been used by SEVERAL so called staffing agencies so I declined to even be considered for that position. I even called one of the offices here and asked one of the AT&T dispatchers if they did hiring w/Rose International...I let him know my concern w/being contacted through email and asked for my SSN. The dispatcher I spoke w/said he didn't know whether they did or didn't use Rose International, and was nice enough to give me 2 agencies' contact info that they use. Oh, the other fishy thing about Rose International is they have offices in India.....ALL of their U.S. offices have the same number with a Missouri area code....but each U.S. city office has a fax number with an area code for the actual city they're in.
