I just received a phone call from this number, and the message said from las vegas police department.since I did not go to las vegas, I suppose this is a scam
Don't know anyone who would end up in jail. Don't know why my cell phone number is being called.
Ok, I'm going to clear this up for everybody because you all just sound confused. This number is in fact a rounting number for inmate calls around the country. Most, but not all calls, from inmates in either prison or county jail are routed through the company in question. So no it is not a scam. HOWEVER!!!! That does not mean that inmates themselves are not scammers trying to either steal your life saving or just get some money for thier chips and soups. So unless you know for sure that someone is incarcerated then don't answer. Plain and simple. Of course then again, it would suck if one of your friends or family did get arrested and you didn't answer.
this number is a collect call fronm an inmate. the phone call can be coming from any detention center in the U.S. to accept these collect calls you must prepay using the global tel link services.
I got a call from this number at 3am this morning. We do not know anyone in jail, that we are aware of. It was the second call in two days. I just hung up.
Oh and an ammendment to my last post. If it is a legitimate inmate call then they will NOT ask you for any kind of payment other than the collect call confirmation, In fact they ask you if you wish to know how much it is going to cost. Anything else will be a scam, remember also, it's also not hard for anybody, even someone who's not an inmate to disquise thier number as something else, so like I said, if you know someone who is incarcerated then it should be ok to answer, if not then I wouldn't recommend it.
This links to many correctional facilities, it is a service so it can represent anyone from California to New York.

Claims to be from a roofing team. Somehow knows real name and city. I keep getting texts like this from different numbers, they stop responding when I ask how they have my number.
