I've been getting calls once or twice a day on my mobile for the past month or more. The prison is "North County". A voice would come of the supposed collect caller, "Mark." Every call it's "Mark" but sometimes it's no one. I don't know anyone in prison, so I was suspicious. Then, the calls started coming early in the morning or late at night---much earlier or later than I would imagine any inmate would be allowed to use a payphone. Today, for the first time, it's a new name. The name of the person calling collect is garbled. So now I'm certain it's a scam. The automated service suggested calling a toll-free number for assistance. The number given is 866-230-7731. I phoned it and got an automated conference call service, with no means of speaking to a live human.

I'm in Toledo Ohio and the recording said Lucas county jail so the system knows what county you live in before it calls. I have gotten 15 calls in one week from this number. Area code is in Texas.

called 7:40am in the morning...and kept calling every 10 to 20 mins. no more call again. otherwise, prepare to be law suited....

I HAVE BEEN CALLED ABOUT 10 TIMES ALREADY FROM THIS PHONE NUMBER today 07/17/13, SO I WENT ONLINE AND SEARCH (713)981-0098 AND TO MY SURPRISE I SEE ALL OF THESE COMMENTS. OH WELL I AM NOT ANSWERING. THANK YOU ALL OF YOU FOR WARNING ME.

I've been getting these calls day after day a relative of mine got them as well his caller id says 713-981-0098 and says an inmate from la county is trying to get in touch and my call (caller id with the same number) said a prison inmate from eastside correctional center. Yeah don't play into this scam!

THIS IS A SCAM! TO ANYONE WHO SAID IT IS NOT IN ANY OF THESE POSTS MUST BE AFFILIATED WITH THE COMPANY. THESE PEOPLE ARE TERRIBLE TO MAKE A MOTHER WORRY ABOUT THEIR CHILD TELLING ME THAT A PERSON I KNOW IS INCARCERATED AND IN THE HOSPITAL! WOW, WHAT COMES AROUND GOES AROUND. MY KIDS, THANK GOD ARE ALL SAFE AND NO ONE I KNOW IS INCARCERATED. THIS IS A SICK JOKE!!! I'M DISGUSTED!!! MY BROTHER IS A LAWYER SO I PLAN TO SEE IF THERE COULD POSSIBLY BE ILLEGAL ISSUES PERTAINING TO THIS NUMBER. ALL I GOT TO SAY IS THEY MESSED WITH THE WRONG WOMEN!!!

got the call and I did not even hear the name of the person... nor do I know anyone that is in prison. I did not accept the charges!

This number keeps calling and will not stop......
