It's the "free" phone call that the inmates can place calls from. I was warned by a lawyer friend that charges will appear on my bill afterwards. (It's a collect call, but not announced as such).In this case, from a former girlfriend located in the Van Nuys California Police holding area...Check your phone bill, it might cost you money... but what are you going to do if the person is arrested?(there needs to be some regulation of this, if you get billed).

I just got a phone call from this number to my cell phone. I didn't answer but they left a voicemail message. When I checked the message it was a recording in Spanish.

I can't believe these morons haven't been prosecuted yet. Your tax dollars at work.

713-981-0098 SCAM...I just received a call from this number on my cell stating it is a collect call and would I accept the call from an inmate on my son's cell phone. They stated an inmate needs to talk to you. So I hung up...My son is in bed still asleep down the hall...Who do these "Morons" think we are and what turnip truck do they think we fell off...I know it is a scam and I will report this number....What a bunch of idiots.

i know.. it's completely annoying.. but theres nothing you can do. you have to use globaltel and prepay it... you cannot reach them by calling. if you want to tell them something then you have to write them a letter through the mail. that is your only other option. been through this a couple of times. =/

It is Global Tel Link have a relative in prison. It's just a collect call system. Sometime, the prison's number shows up. Sometimes, this shows up. Not a scam. Poor kid probably did think he called his grandma.

Jeff keeps calling from pitchess detention center and want calls to be collect. This is after he scams people into forwarding their calls with a 721 code and then he calls for free while you pay the charges.
