what is this i got to call 4r this # 713)981-0098 I need to knw ASP!!! i think is my husben iam not sure PLZ HELP I NEED HELP.....

I don't know any inmates so I didn't take the call. The automated system asked me to dial "7" to accept the call. Once I dialed 7, it asked me to dial more numbers. I hung up immediately having heard about a scam like this. I did some googling on the Internet and found that if you dial *72, you can forward your phone line to an number. I am wondering if they found a way around the *72 that forwards your phone line. If they call you, HANG UP. If they call again, let it go to your answering machine. This stopped the calling.

My Boyfriend calls me from the 713-981-0098 all the time I have to add money through GTL and we can talk. I dont understand why it is a scam ? Isnt it just a phone number set up through GTL ?

It's a scam because people are getting called randomly and not by people they know. That's why it's a scam. You're an a$$hole for trying to make people think it's okay to randomly get calls from a "jail" requesting a CC#.

This number is the phone system for correctional facilities nationwide. The new scam is an inmate calling saying to answer because a family member is an emergency. They also ask you to call a special number with a *72 before the number! Careful its a call forwarding service and you will be billed for any calls placed by this inmate. You can however block any calls from Global Tel Link, to prevent this scam from happening to you. I have been getting these calls for the past week, anywhere from 1-10 times a day at ALL hours, claiming to be an emergency from a loved one in a Los Angeles County Facility. SCAM! BEWARE!

got a call from this number, nobody said anything, waited minutes still no responsei want my money refunded

Caller state.. collect call from Denver County jail with name of person (unintelligable), select 9 to answer or 7 if oyu want to reject and stop calls. I want to stop calls ( about 4 per day), but I don't dare hit 7. I just hang up.......... they keep calling.I don't know anyone there. How can I stop it?
