Only a representative from the collection firm would only say something like that. If you dont owe anything at all then do what I do tell them they can speak to my lawyer and if they continue to "harass" with the phone calls then you will seek legal action against them.

i think these people need to get real people to deal with instead of calling peoples house and worrying them to death i am sure we all know what we owe instead of them calling all day long .

This guy leaves a message to just call back but does not leave a number I call back and they do not know what the reason is for me calling. Eventually I give them my name and they want me to give them the last four of my soc and my personal info dob-last 4 of soc and do not. They then say they can not help me if I dont give them this info... They say they have sent out numerous letters in the mail(which they have not) this sounds like a bs scam type of company... dont be had!!!

THESE PEOPLE ARE BUTTS.....THEY KEEP CALLING FOR SOMEONE WHO DOESN'T EVEN LIVE AT MY PHONE NUMBER. I HAVE CALLED THEM OVER AND OVER AGAIN TO TELL THEM THIS...THEY KEEP TELLING ME THAT MY NUMBER IS NOT IN THEIR SYSTEM, YET THEY CONTINUE TO CALL A NUMBER THAT IS NOT IN THEIR SYSTEM. THE PEOPLE ARE VERY RUDE, WON'T LISTEN, AND THE SUPERVISORS (SUPPOSEDLY) ARE JUST AS BAD. I CALLED THEM AND RECORDED OUR CONVERSATION SINCE THEY ARE SOOO RUDE AND I AM NOT EVEN THE ONE WHO HAS A BILL WITH THEM....THEN I SPOKE WITH THE LEGAL DEPARTMENT AT MY WORK.....LOOKOUT PRICKS........THIS IS HARRASSMENT!!!!!!

why if an atty office is calling you and has all your info (address, date of birth, soc ser #) that you gladly gave the creditor to get the credit card then charge the card up and for reasons only you stop paying and the creditor makes every attempt to get you to make your payments but cannot get you to respond or pay and months go by and they charge off the credit card which is the worst thing that can show up on your credit report in reference to your credit cards. They hire a collection agency or a atty office to get their money you had to charge up. They have your credit report all ready all your info and if you want a nice car, a home, furniture what have you, pay your debt you charged up or have nothing, your debt will not go away even if you if paid it in 5 years it will still be on your credit report. So no matter if you call your creditor they will give you the # to call the collection agency or atty office you have to work it out with them not all collectors are bad they listen and help you out.

GOT A CALL FROM A JILL CARTER STATING THAT SHE WAS WITH THE SAME LAW FIRM AS STATED IN THE PREVIOUS REPORTS. SHE MENTIONED SHE MAILED A LETTER OUT TO ME ON YESTERDAY THAT WAS SENT TO THE WRONG ADDRESS. SHE STATED SHE NEEDED MY DOB AND LAST FOUR OF SS# IN ORDER TO SEND IT TO THE CORRECT ADDRESS. I TOLD HER I NEEDED TO KNOW WHAT THE CALL WAS REGARDING BEFORE I GAVE OUT MY PERSONSAL INFO STATED THAT SHE COULD NOT UPDATE ANYTHING WITHOUT HAVING THAT INFORMATION. TOLD HER THAT I COULD NOT GIVE OUT MY INFO EITHER UNLESS I KNEW WHAT IT CONCERNED. GUESS IT WASNT THAT IMPORTANT WAS IT. OH WELL

john smith this is not old school collections anymore we abid by the fdcpa laws and once you get in an atty office and your credit report is pulled it also does a report if you sued for fdcpa if you have your file is pulled and sent straight to be recommended for suit.
