You need to contact them in writing with a firm statement that you, your place of employment, family, neighbors, etc., would not be contacted by phone. Also state in the letter that any unwanted threatening calls will be reported to the FTC (Federal Trade Commission). You must state in the letter that all communication be sent by US Mail only.Hopefully, that will help - Hannah and Associates are the worst of the worst - they actually threatened my 81 year old mother with jail! They call at all hours, regardless of federal guidelines, and they are abusive and dishonest in their representation. Avoid speaking to them at all costs.
This is the best post of all! Just what we needed to know about the kind of revolting people Frederick J. Hanna's company hires. I hope this kind gentleman has a long life never has credit trouble. It would be such a distreesing irony for him. I also truly hope he doesn't succumb to some kind of horrible, painful, extremely disfiguring cancer or accident. You know, the kind that really puts him and everyone in his family in such a bad place in life. No one should have anything that difficult to deal with. But, with all that negative energy in his life, it wouldn't be a surprise. As they say, what goes around comes around. As far as the banks, they collect so much money in interest, fees and penalties alone, from credit card holders, and they have just recieved a huge influx of cash from the taxpayer. I believe they will be just fine.
Received a call and they asked for someone that doesn't work here and never has. When I told them they must have the wrong number, they started harassing me and accusing me of lying. I couldn't believe what I was hearing
You're an idiot then! You're calling people and their momma and their daddy and their sister and their brother and so on when you have the wrong number!!! The dumb idiot that called here wouldn't accept she had the wrong number. Sounds to me like you all may need some basic training, first you must have the correct person's phone number who owes the debt then you can harass. Bet your bonuses aren't that big if you don't have the correct people. I would imagine you don't collect very much debt that isn't owed to begin with. Good gosh...you must not have any power of your own personal life, therefore that would explain your ridiculous ranting!! Go Fred Hann!!
Constant contact from Mary Johnson stating that she has made some contact with my creditor.Threatened to file serving papers or warrant. She also stated that she continually called me and so did her supervisor. I called back to ask to speak to her and was rejected, because I failed to give her my SSN over the phone to the receptionist who could not contact her in the office.
I agree that no one should live in fear of phone calls but when you are constantly getting calls that are NOT FOR YOU from debt collectors on a cell phone (which happens a lot because cell phone companies give out numbers that used to belong to someone else) it can 1) get annoying and 2) get expensive because it uses minutes.I understand that they don't know the number no longer belongs to said person, but when I've told them five separate times that I am not who they are looking for, nor do I know him or have any way to contact him, I stop having sympathy for me when they keep calling.I am keeping track of the calls and plan to see if there's any legal action I can take to get them to stop calling because they are NOT looking for me and I have informed them of this and informed them that if they continue to call, I will do anything I can to get them to stop including taking legal action. I see nothing wrong with trying to look up a number that is harrassing you if they aren't actually looking for YOU.
I was on my way home from work one day and I answered my cell and a woman told me she was from a lawyers office, I was so upset that they could get my cell number, I just said, "how did you get this number"? and hung up one her
