I just tried calling the 800 number for Medco. (The number will vary according to your coverage area. If you have Medco prescription coverage, check the back of your Medco card for the correct member phone number.) I spoke with a very nice woman who documented my complaint and forwarded it to the company's complaint department, which she says will review my request to have my number removed from the calling list within two business days. (If you do this, make sure to ask for the complaint number, as no other verification will be given to you that the complaint was filed -- I asked for a confirmation e-mail or something and was told that wasn't possible.) Hopefully this will solve my problem. I'll keep you all posted. Good luck!
They have called me numerous times as well...They never leave a message. When you call back it is just a busy tone.
This number keeps calling and when I pick up, it is as if I am being transferred to someone. I was concerned that someone was trying to use my cell phone number to make a long-distance phone call, so I hung up. It is possible it is Medco as they have called me using a different number. And, yes, Medco is extremely annoying as they will call over and over again until you talk to them regarding your prescriptions. I think it borders on harrassment and its best to call your employer to complain. Calling United HealthCare won't do the trick (Medco is their company).
I have been getting a call from them once a day for about a week now. They do not leave a message and the number is always busy when I call right back to find out who this is. I'm gathering other posts there isn't really a way to get this to stop???
I worked for Medco and the pressure to keep calling clients who are not interested is not the individual but a J-Dialer program which they refuse to update and clean up their act. They are ridiculous and will not respect the client. They continue to use pressure tactics to get the client to use RTM (retail to mail..RX to arrive in your mailbox). It should be the consumer's choice. I would not go that route to save a few dollars. When you return to your local pharmacy, the Rx. may or may not be available on the spot. Ask your doctor. Most of them are against mail order pharmacies. Working conditions are horrid. They over-employ and then fire people after six months. I think it is for tax credits. They treat their employees just like their customers.
