Got a call with a recording offering lower credit card rates. Pressed 1 as instructed and got connected live. Was asked if I would like a lower interest rate and relplied yes, was askied for info and gave none, I kept them on the phone 8 minutes asking questions for every one of theirs. I then stated that my number was on the do not call list. Girl replied that she could add meto list. I then said again, no I am already on the list and you are in violation for calling me. I aksed them for their call back number. They replied theyonly gave that out to existing customers. I replied Ah ha , so you admit I am not a present customer. She got really pi***** and said I could have told her that up front. I replied, no you called me on my phone so I make the rules, and now I will hang up on you. Click.
I think these companies pass around phone numbers to each other. I finally turned my ringers off on my phones and let the answering machine take over. It is pathetic that we have to be bothered by this stuff every single day of the world. You hate not to answer calls later in the evening for fear that it might be something serious. But they don't leave any messages...just very inconvenient.
_______________________________________________________HANG up when you see 713-226-2555 or 772-664-4005 on your caller id. Simply by saying "yes" or "pressing any key on your keypad" will authorize these group of losers to charge on anyone of your bills - either phone, credit card, or cell phone. These folks are tied to ILD Teleservices 800-433-4518 who's the billing agent for Universal Voice Services 866-473-1980 who represent these scams.________________________________________________________Found this on the net and called the Universal Voice Services 866-473-1980...to complain. I suggest we light up their CSR department each and every time we receive a phone call form the scammers. They claimed to not know anything about what was going on but when confronted with the information above, looked into their customer base and yes in-deedy they represent these asshats. Of course the management will be informed....yeah right.I told them I was posting this info on the internet and hoped they enjoyed answering their phones as much as I do.....I did not leave any personal info.
Definitely a credit card phishing scheme. Danger, Will Robinson! Even before our answering machine greeting ends, an automated message kicks in over it, saying that my auto warranty is expiring, trying to sell extended insurance on my car, prompting me to press a key to be connected to a sales representative "or press 9 to be removed from our list." Wants my credit card number. When asked what company this is, they hang up immediately. These people don't follow the Do Not Call regulations and should be reported.
Same experience as Danielle below... automated woman's voice said the call was in regards to my credit cards, there was no problem currently, but that I could lower my interest rate on my credit cards to 6.5% APR... only, time was running out and this call was my "final notice" of this opportunity. Press 1 to continue with a live person... yada yada yada. Kids, can you say "scam"?

Although I am registered with the national no call registry, I received a recorded call today, Apr 24, at 1:55p from 772-664-4005 offering to lower interest rates on my credit card (unspecified). The recording said to press '1' if interested or '2' if not interested. I pressed '1' so I could speak to a live person. When I asked the name of the company calling, the woman replied, "Account Services". I asked again and she said that "Account Services" is the name and that the company represents over 70 credit card companies. I asked which company referred me for the call. She angrily said that she was not going to lower my interest rate and cursed at me. I am now going to call ATT at 888-757-6500 as was suggested above to complain.
