Phoned cedar publishing today got ahold of "glenis" we had a goaround, very vulgar person. She hung up. Phoned back talked to "lisa", you know I thought she was a little different, not to far down the list of barnyard creatchers, guess you can't be correct all the time. Anyway I told her I would not be phoning them anymore that I would be concentrating on emailing all the people that supposadly gave testomonials on the credability of cedar publishing. Today I phoned or emailed about a dozen of them some were quite supprised that they gave a testamonial. All that I talked to were happy to recieve my call and said they would look into it. That is all you can ask. Sometimes good people are just too busy to investigste every business they deal with. When you shine the light on them the cockroches run.

This company scammed us several times. We run a busy company and paid several of their bills for "advertising" - even though we weren't entirely convinced that the charges were authorized we paid them - as the funds were apparently going to a good cause. Once I realized the scam, I specifically advised them to never call us again. Today I get a very friendly call from Melissa representing the "Canadian Missing Kids Newsmagazine". When I asked what charity she was representing, she said it was the "RCMP / Missing Kids". When I asked her for her toll-free number she gave the same number as Cedar Publishing. When confronted, she explained that her company "just took over that phone number". When I told her that sounded like a load of crap, she then said that "the new company is sharing office space with Cedar Publishing". When I told her that sounded like a bigger load of crap, she then said that the new company had just recently taken over Cedar Publishing and that "everything is different now". When I asked to speak to Moe, she said he's not the owner but that she doesn't know the new owners name. When I asked for details of the "RCMP charity", she said that I misunderstood what she was saying - and that the RCMP provides them with pictures of missing children. I am so sick and tired of these phonies. Moe, you've been using missing children and worthwhile causes in order to rip people off. It's despicable and pathetic. Hopefully karma will catch up with you in the future.In the meantime, anyone with ideas about how to cause some grief for Cedar Publishing, please let me know. They need a wake-up call.

I received a call this morning from Jessie. She said she was part of an initiative to create awareness for missing and exploited kids in Canada, then went on to tell me some stats on how many children went missing in Alberta each year. Finally came the sales pitch for us to advertise in their magazine this fall. Could I please send the ad and $247.50 and we'll send your proof. No we can't email you any information, we don't have computers. We don't have email addresses. What an interesting way to do business!Jessie's callback number is 780-454-3444 x246. Needless to say, we won't be purchasing an ad.

I sadly did do one ad with them paid it and when they called to do another add talking in circles about how great my first add was (which it was fine and i agreed on that) so now they have been harassing me for over 1 year saying I agreed to a new add! I emailed the CEO moe many many times MONTHS before the magazine went to print telling them over and over I DO NOT WANT AN ADD AGAIN. they printed it anyway even though i gave them lots of time to cancel it. What legit Business doesn't let you cancel and add WAY before print, Yells at you AND not the same person that called from a 780-701-3718 number is now calling saying she is collections and is going to take me to court. She claims they have mailed me notices (lie, i have never gotten anything in the mail) FINE TAKE ME TO COURT!! I talked to my lawyer and she said as long as i know I am right then just ignore them. They do not have my Signature on a contact so there is no contract. A recorded phone call is not a contract. I deal with a lot of businesses and they do not run a legit and defiantly not professional business. NO reputable print company sends you a proof saying if you don't contact them by a certain date they will print your add anyway!! what the hell!!! What business doesn't have computers??? I have no problem paying my bills when it is something i asked for!

Receiving harrassing phone calls (rude, threatening, use of foul language) about every second or third week. Claims I owe them money. I do not owe them money. This has been going on for several years. I have invited them to prove their claim or to sue. They have done neither.

This is not the same as offering a service in exchange for a price.Most of what you say is transparent in its' effort to lead readers off topic. I like the broad accusational strokes at anyone who has been harrassed by Cedar or its' subsidiaries. You dont have a clueFirst of all , even if you did record the conversation when and where was the information given that you were doing so.Secondly just because you say you want an ad is no justification for proof. Where is the contract, where is authorization that someone approved of the ad. There is none

Hi Jackany advise on how to get Glenis to stop calling my store! I have reported them to RCMP and they are looking into it!

They have many magazines but the one that they are harassing our company for is Alberta Paramedics Magazine. We did not agree to advertise with them. They are using snippets of recorded conversations to "prove" that you agreed to advertise but will not provide full disclosure of the conversation. They are possibly doctoring the recordings. Our company is being harassed for payment of a bill for advertising, that we did not agree to. We have complained to the BBB (Cedar have a F- rating), and the Competition Bureau (1-800-348-5358). We have also contacted the Edmonton Police Fraud department (though they referred me to the Competition Bureau... as it appears to be more of a civil law issue). We are currently drafting a letter through our lawyer to stop the harassment and are demanding full disclosure of all conversations between our companies (digital, unedited and date stamped copies of all recordings). A good friend of mine is a private investigator and gave me the low down on how people can fraudulently manipulate recorded calls (hence the detailed requirements for copies of the recordings). I know several lawyers, one of which specializes in contract law in Alberta. I also have contacts within the Calgary Police Department to address the harassment issue if it gets out of hand. I would suggest that each of you take the time to craft a letter telling them to stop calling you (I know it's a pain to waste energy on people like this but it is better to do your due diligence... cross your Ts and dot your Is). when they call you, put on them on hold and continue with your work. They are not worth getting too worked up about. Most of all, do not buy into their bullying. If you did not sign a contract the onus is on them to prove a contract was made.
