They have recently been calling us saying they are from SMK Canada. Beware it is Cedar Publishing as is Canadian Credit Management.

I just encountered these guys. I thought they were legit. Boy was I ever wrong. They sent me a second proof and it was all wrong. Then I found this here and thought oh boy...So I cancelled it and faxed it back to them telling it's cancelled. They're threatening me already, telling me I have to pay. The police are aware of these guys. The officer listed here also told me to call the City of Edm Business license group to lodge a complaint and investigation which I did.

Well folks they r at it again...just received a call from Cedar publishing, a woman named "Debbie", talking 2 me like she knows my husband and I very well, however they have been calling us soooo much over the past 5 or 6 years I know all of their numbers. L Berkeley was the name and the # was 780-701-3725, however they have a whole array of numbers they call from. THEY R SCAMMERS AND THEIVES DON'T LET THEM FOOL U, they do not have any association with the Edmonton Police, Paramedics, Child Find or ANY other non profit organization they claim to advertise for at all ANTWHERE!!! The only one who benefits from this is Moe Najmadeine!! He is a pig that preys on peoples sense of charity only he has no sense of anything but money!! In the box below where it says "call type" I wish I could click a box that says thieves, cause that's what they r, but for now it will have 2 be telemarketer.

I was solicited by this scammy company and even though I did not approve anything and said I would look at a proof and possibly advertise if I liked their work. I asked them to email their proposal to me. They said they did not have email. I received a terrible illegible screenshot of one of my websites via snail mail… not even the company that I said I might be interested in promoting! Plus this was of an international company which required approval from their compliance department. I phoned two numbers saying DO NOT PRINT! and texted the girl who initially contacted me (who quit by this time due to their lack of ethics). Without a response back to me they printed and then began systematically calling and literally bullying and harassing me trying to extort money from me for almost a year. I've reported to BBB, the Anti-Fraud Centre, the RCMP but they continue to harass me. The police department in Spruce Grove said they are interested in going after for them for criminal harassment, and they transferred the case to the Edmonton Police Department. I'm looking for anyone that has been similarly poorly treated to file a class action suit and go for damages from these fraudulent operators. We do not want this kind of scam in our province. Received a "Past Due" Invoice in the mail for $207.38 for an ad for "Child Find Saskatchewan Newsmagazine Winter 2009." It's bogus!

Wow, i've spent 5 minutes reading previous posts from other people and i'm absolutely astonished with the claims. I've been advertising in several of Cedar Publishing's directories or magazines for several years now and seen my business increase from leads generated by those advertisements. I don't suspect that people who are pleased with Cedar Publishing would take the time out of their day to go online and praise this group (because that's not what people normally do - including myself), but I would suspect that people who have had a bad experience in the past with this company would... which explains the comments on this site. I guess all I will say is thanks to Cedar Publishing for the awesome work and if you guys at Cedar are reading this, I would suggest you ignore these other people's comments. My guess is that they are businesses who were happy to place ads, found that the ad didn't create a return for them, and now want an out from paying for the ad. PS... you guys should try contacting the owner Moe... i've had one problem with an ad I placed one year and he resolved the problem for me in a matter of minutes.

I have been getting a call from this scam company for about 2 years. They are crooks. Do not think any different. I did call them today to have my company removed from their calling list. I highly doubt this is going to be effective. Each time they call me I will call them back. Fight this...don't ever pay and report it to the BBB. I find their chronic phone calls abusive.

I have the same story as you guys do. I have been billed for a 360 dollar ad i never wanted in the first place!! what crooks!! I am going through a case of collections with them right now because they want their money for their ad i never wanted! Just let them try to collect!! HHAHAHAHA. Bunch of crap and they are extremely rude if you talk to them. They even tried that they have my voice on tape saying i wanted the ad but that is not true and it goes against the privacy act of recording my voice.

How about you stop making cold calls. Because when you ask someone politely to stop calling and they refused to do it, that is called HARASSMENT. ever heard of it? She even tried to reason out that it is not harassment. A woman named Selena asked if she can speak with the boss. I asked her what is this for again. Seems like she is trying to avoid the question and talked about today being a Friday... I asked what is the purpose of this call. she responded with "are you the boss? because you sound like you have the authority?" Then she laughed like there is something funny....then tried to make a joke... Told her sorry the boss is in a meeting right now, she hung up on me. How rude! I added her number to our blocked list..your company is a joke. Your associates are rude and unprofessional! Get a life and stop scamming people!
