This is legitimate (so long as it's not being spoofed). If there is suspicious activity on your PNC account, this is an automated system that can handle it.
This number is PNC. I ignored the call and called PNC myself just to make sure. They advised that it was them and they needed to verify purchases made with my debit card.
I get the call again They said my name! I feel very scared I checked my Account everything seemed Normal and Hanged up 2
Ikr I was the same I checked my account everything seemed fine and They started to countdown I hanged up Quick! I don’t want my account ended
this is PNC Bank Loss Prevention calling to confirm charges on my accounts...found fraud on the account.
Got two calls today, automated. Thought it was a scam, it was real. There were two charges that weren’t authorized. Glad I looked into it. I came here first, then I wasn’t sure. So I called the number back after I checked my transactions online. Whether it’s real or not just follow up.. I get a lot of telemarketers and automated calls I just hang up without a second thought. But when they called twice and left a message the red flag went up. I’ll be checking in on my transactions more often as well.
This is NOT A SCAM. I just got a call from this number and they left a message. I called my local PNC and was told that someone had tried to charge $490 to my card at a Department Store in England and they declined the charge temporarily. I was advised to call back the 800 number left on the message because I would have to deal directly with their Fraud Department to verify that I had not made the charge. I called this number and got recorded prompts and then was transferred to a representative. She verified that I had not made the charge, cancelled my bank card so no future purchases could be made on it and is sending me a new bank card.
I just received a call from this number that I did not answer. I googled the number and found this page. I then checked my PNC account and found 3 fraudulent charges. I called PNC (using the number provided on their website) to report the charges.
It is legitimate but annoying as heck. I called the number on the back of my card and they had flagged an online payment to a sorority that I'd made for my daughter. They said because it was an out of character purchase for me, it got flagged as possible fraud. Still, I think it's really smart to call them back via the number on the back of your card to be on the safe side.
