I have two calls from this number on my log; I think the one I received today was the first one that actually left a message. We owe a lot of people a lot of money (well, not too much) and that's mostly because they won't identify themselves when they call so I just ignore them. The message today was from Jennifer (who I see has been quite busy); she left a Master Number referral. It did sound like a recorded voice. I wonder if I have talked to anyone from there in the past, because, like I said, we do owe money (like hospital bills and co-pays, etc.). But still, if I don't know who it is or what they're calling about, they get no information from me.
This is the fourth or fifth collection agency that has tried to collect a so called debt. I just tell them I'm not going to pay the debt and they don't call back. They always end up selling my account to another agency and I have to go through the same thing all over again. It did show up on my credit report but I disputed the charge and the credit reporting agency erased it. All of these collection agencies have been trying to collect the same debt for about 4 yrs now and they've all failed and my credit is still clean.
These idiots are THE WORST. Luckily, I just screen my calls, never pick up and don't respond when they call.In our case, we had a fight with Equitable Gas over their inability to send a correct bill after we'd sold a house. We told them we were moving, and the people buying our house told them to put the bill in their name. It took Equitable a few weeks to actually read the meter, we got a very high gas bill. We paid only what we thought was our portion of the bill. I wrote them a letter telling them why we did not pay in full.I got my first call from the debt-collection agency in February, and I explained the situation. I thought that straightened it out. Then, I got a very heavy-handed call from someone else in their office, threatening to ruin our credit if we did not pay immediately. I hung up (we have great credit and pay all legitimate bills in a timely fashion). Oh, by the way, our credit rating remains untouched by these bozos. After a few months of weekly calls (that I would not pick up), they started leaving messages asking MY HUSBAND to contact them. Gee not only heavy-handed but sexist, too!Eventually, I wrote to both the debt-collector and to Equitable. I had a useful talk with someone from Equitable; it turned out Equitable had sent us a refund that they should not have sent us and then used this agency to try to get their refund back. I didn't remember the refund, but my husband did. So even though it was Equitable's mistake, I agreed to repay the refund, which I did. We're still getting calls from these people. This is nuts.I will write to Equitable again to tell them that the debt collectors are STILL calling us, despite the fact that Equitable has cashed our check and not billed us any further!
Just received a call from this company today. I know that it is a scam. They talked to my husband and say that he owes a hospital bill for $500 which is totally bogus. My husband does not speak english very well and asked for a spanish speaking rep. They apparently do not have any. He also said that the guy who called sounded high on drugs. My husband called back, and asked them which hospital he owes and they just hung up on him. I have already warned my husband not to release any info over the phone. If it is legit, then they can send me a statement in the mail. I don't like where this is going and it sounds like we're in for a lot of harassment from these jerks.
This company has called my company insisting that we have a debt of $152 dating back to 2002 that needs to be paid! I told them that I don't believe it is our debt and until they can provide an invoice NOT A STATEMENT showing the charges with detail we are not paying. This company is rude and then when you call them on their attitude they hang up on your. The few times I've talked to them lately, I've told them I'm hanging up and they start to argue with me. Click! Hard to believe that legitimate companies turn their business over to a collection agency with such a poor reputation but I guess money is money to Sprint etc.
They absolutely are rude and will cuss you back! They need to be stopped or called at 2am!
Still getting 2-3 calls daily...never answer them and they don't leave messages. I liked what someone else wrote...start calling them and hanging up...just make sure you block your number (*67) before dialing. this way they don't know who's calling.
I have been getting calls from these people almost daily for almost a year now. Today was the first time I thought to look the number up. I have had some issue with GMAC on a loan I have and one my son has and until today I always thought that was who was calling. But as of last Friday both accounts are in current status. First time in over a year that both are in good status at the same time. So when I got the call today I got suspicious.I agree the male caller who usually calls is very rude and almost scary. Very deep abrupt voice. I too wish they would stop calling. I do have a couple utility bills (not large, just bothersome) that a collection agency could be calling about but other then that my stuff is more in order then it has been in a very long time.
I have recieved several recording phone messages from this number. Just stating to call the number and this is the master code. I called the number back last night because after two days I have 6 messages from them. I thought it was some stupid win a cruise or stupid thing like that. The message I got didnt state anything about who the company was. I searched the number online. I have absolutely no outstanding bills so this is riduclous I plan on notifying the BBB about them. My phone number is on the no call list but apparently that doesnt matter.
