Appears to be legit in my case. I have CC and bank accounts w/ Chase. The voice mail I got didn't specify which account it was for. I called the number on the back of my CC first and they said there was no issue there. They then transferred me to the banking people, and they actually *had* reached out to me.
NOT a valid Chase fraud number!! I called Chase directly today after receiving this call and they have no record of this being a Chase fraud number.
Got this call, automated call. Sounds strange and looks like someone is trying to scam my chase account.
Got a call from this number after initiating a few large online transfers. Forwarded the voicemail to chase to confirm or deny the attempt to contact being real.Got a second call from the same number and then I called the number on my card. They confirmed that this number isn't legit. Scam!
Received 2 calls from this number today with a voice recording to call them back. They said I had fraudulently activity on my bank account.
Call is a fake. Just got 1 today and Chase acts like this is the first time it has been reported. Wonder why they don't shut it down, seems like they had enough time to do it.
Got a call from this number (800-366-1962) just now. Like everyone else, it's a recorded message saying she's calling from Chase Fraud Prevention, press any key now to speak to a representative. I didn't press any key and after 10 seconds, the message continues saying "please call this toll free number back and use the following reference number to discuss your account's details". Then the call ended itself. I felt very suspicious so I called the real Chase toll-free number which is at the back of my debit card and reported this issue. The representative said the 18003661962 is NOT Chase. Report to Chase if you get this call so they can make a note in their system and flag any weird activities in your account.
I just spoke to chase by utilizing the number on the back of my CC, not this number that called me and left a message. . Chase had indeed tried to contact me today regarding some unusual transactions I'd made. Thank you Chase!
This is definitely NOT a scam. The phone number 1-800-366-1962 is the direct line to the Operating Loss Prevention Department (Fraud Prevention) for CHASE. I was VERY doubtful at first and convinced it was a scam, so I called the phone number on the back of my CHASE debit card. Upon doing so, I spoke with a Chase rep and asked them to connect me to the Fraud Prevention Department, which they did. Then I asked them if 1-800-366-1962 is affiliated with Chase and they said yes, with the Fraud Prevention Department. At first they didn't know why I was calling because everything on my account seemed fine, but then I gave them the reference number (that was left on my voicemail from 1-800-366-1962) and they realized it was regarding my business account. The previous day I had made a large transfer of money to a different bank, and they wanted to confirm that it was really me doing that. If I hadn't called them, the transfer would not have gone through. I told Chase they need to change their voicemail to instruct customers to simply call the phone number on the back of their Chase card! Because today, it's WAY to shady to call some strange number that left you an automated message, and then start doling out personal information!! But yes, 1-800-366-1962 IS for sure affiliated with Chase's Fraud Prevention Department.
