SCAM! Called Chase and spoke to their Fraud Department. They have no listing for that 800 number. Don't be a sucker!

Yup,,, totally fraud and a phishing scam,,, DO NOT GIVE any info!!

I received a call from this number and hung up. Later I called the number on the back of my card and they said that they didn't contact me and it wasn't a chase number. A few minutes later I got another call from that number and I decided to give it a try. They asked a couple of security questions (which of the following cities have you resided in, which of these cars you owned) and then it asked to verify that a transaction I made on a certain date for certain amount (which I did) was legitimate. I answered yes and then I was prompted to a short survey. So it looks legit to me but I didn't give any sensitive information. The transaction I made was a large money transfer by email.

You don't need to believe anyone here regarding if it is a scam or not. Just follow some good advice and only call the number on the back of your card. If the call was legit, the number on the back of your card will get you speaking to the right person to deal with the problem, anyway, and if the call was fraud, you just avoided getting scammed.

This IS a Chase number, not a scam. I received the call this morning and called the number on the back of my card instead and the Chase rep connected me to their debit card fraud division. Sure enough, they wanted to verify a charge I made that morning. If you are nervous, call the number on the back of your card, explain what happened and ask to be transferred to their fraud division.

Message from Chase Fraud department. I called Chase and they said the call did not come from Chase.

called chase, rep did a search on number, and it is not affiliated with Chase. She checked my cards - no issues. checked my checking acct - no issues. Took down the number and said it would be forwarded to their internal security.I work in the banking industry, and chase confirmed that they follow industry SOP. They WILL Never call YOU and ask you for your acct number. They can verify you identity by asking what the last charge was, when you paid your last payment, or some other transaction related question. They can and often will shot out a REAL physical letter also.Anyone posting that this is NOT a scam, should post a link to chase to prove it, or they should be reported for abuse, as they are part of the scam.

It's chase bank fraud prevention and I called regular chase bank who confirmed time of call to verify.

I called Chase when I could not find 800-366-1962 on their website. This number is bogus.

I got a call from it and around the same time with details of a transfer I made to another account at a different bank. It seems unbelievable to me that a fraudster would know these details. I believe the call was actually from Chase's fraud service.
