It is fraud - I called Chase and they checked and said this is not a legitimate Chase phone number. They don't use automated systems for card fraud, btw - I've had issues with that before, so I've worked with their Loss Protection team. Don't give your info, and make sure to report it to Chase immediately.
Not 30 seconds after submitting my first online payment through Chase Bill Pay, my cell rang from this number. I looked here as the phone was ringing and let the call go to voicemail, where they left a message like all those above. I called the Chase Customer Service number from their website (1-877-242-7372) and spoke with a representative who confirmed my payment was in process with no flags, and she actually called the 800 number to see what she could find, but couldn't get beyond the menu system. She said while it SOUNDED legit, this was not a number in their corporate system that she was aware of, and it was most likely a scam...which means they have a leak somewhere that triggers to the scammers when online payments are submitted. Very clever, guys, but I ain't falling for it. Thanks to 800Notes for being a GREAT reference!
This is CHASE. Ask for their OPERATING LOSS PREVENTION team. AKA (Fraud Hotline). One thing you all are not noticing is that all of you replying here are indeend Chase customers. When you call in dont just go off splurting verify this number because they may not be aware of the number for the automated system for a security department, becauase that department may have several numbers that lead to them. Instead ask kindly to be connected with Operating Loss Prevention. Thank You.
it's a scam , they tried to get me too ... but I did call direct chase phone number and they confirm that 800-366-1962 is NOT a Chase phone number, and there is no issues or note on my account.so don't call that number, instead of that call chase number in the back of your card.
This is legit. It's Chase's fraud dept. We contacted them originally and this is the number they called back on It's an automated VM to verify transactions. It it NOT bogus at all. I don't know why you guys are saying that.
They called me very soon after I used QuickPay. They asked me for information and I told the guy to go [***] himself (I actually used words I cannot say in print...)There is some leak in Chase - and it's a bit worrying.
Just called regular chase # and they confirmed the call was NOT from them and this is a phishing / scam number.
I requested to send 100 bucks to a friend today using Zelle. I got a text message from Chase asking if I really wanted to transfer and I got this call today right about the same time but I did not answer it. Coincidence?
