I get these calls about once a week. What is most alarming is they have both my cell and office number. I rarely give out my cell number so it feels as though someone has intercepted by personal Chase info. Beware!
This is legitimate. I called their customer service number and verified this number is their fraud department.
Hey it IS Chase Fraud Prevention. They ask 2 security questions by multiple choice.Wanted to confirm a transaction...Legit.J
I think the confusion is about the credit card. In my case it was not about the CC but my business checking account. Not unreasonable for the CC People to know nothing about the other side of the business. In my case they knew the name of my business, the amount of the check, my contact info, etc. I was able to tell them who the check was written to and that's all they needed.
We received a call today as well - it asked us answer a couple of multiple choice questions to confirm our identify, the first one was to confirm the terms/number of months of our current automobile loan...we don't have an automobile loan with chase...so I hung up....glad I found this site to confirm that the call indeed was a SCAM!
I have received two calls from this number just today. Caller ID identifies it as Chase Fraud. I did not answer. Started checking and it seems to be just a phishing call.
This is definitely fake.Called the # on the back of my card, and they had fraud prevention on the other line to confirm that they do not have anything to do with this number. More importantly, the real fraud prevention said there is no record on my account of possible fraud and they never left me a message.Like many others said, the real number for chase fraud prevention is 1-800-978-8664.
I called a call from them numerous times, they did not ask me to give them any information, instead they asked the questions such as, @ is this (first and last name)? press 1, I did, then they said in what city is my address in, they gave me options A thru D and number to choose for each option, I did then they asked, you have opened a mortgage in (month and year) which was correct too, who is your mortgage banker, options a thru D, I chose the right number, then they said, you wrote a check gave check # and amount is that correct, I chose yes. I have indeed written a check for that amount to myself on another bank and I was told there will be a hold. So yea, they didnt ask me to give specific information, they supplied the information
