Altus contacted me in Ontario to pay an outstanding bill. The company that I owed the money to had my credit card on file and had for years. When I cancelled my service they were unsure if payment was made. They were going to check and get back to me which they never did. Altus was "given" the file. They had an investigator contact me via phone which is illegal. They then followed up with an email demanding payment which is also illegal. Law states a letter has to be sent to me via snail mail 7 days before any other type of contact is legally acceptable. No problem paying my bills but to say this company is above board is misleading.

Recieved call fron Jessie Chubb PI to call the 800 number before noon and that someone will be out tomorrow to take photos of the business. He left a case number and extension. After calling I was asked a bunch of questions (I didnt give info)and transfered to an extention with just an answering machine (didnt leave a message).

Collection agency, they will call you every day at different hours even after 8 PM or before 8 AM. Notify them to stop harassing you and they have to comply with the law. If they persist, take action and the roles will be reversed.

I call in part to make sure I have the right starting point, but also to notify the intended party prior to any verification of bank accounts, unsecured assets, lines of credit, vendors & suppliers, corporate status, DBAs, registrant cross reference, permit verification, zoning status, ect, ect, ect... For those of you that can't seem to wrap your mind around the fact that I am in New Orleans I can only say this... Look in your yellow pages! There are plenty of pi's in your area that would be happy to make 75.00 to take some pictures and look for specific items. It is easy to sub out work to other parties and the completed product is an up to date profile on a corporate or personal entity. My reports are lovely for expediting lawsuits and giving the attorneys lots of updated financial information so that they can best represent their client’s interests with liens, garnishment, judgment and writs of replevin. If you don’t want me doing my investigation I suggest you contact the person that hired me. Please don’t think that I called for your permission, I get paid to follow my clients directions.

They cannot force their wayinto your business or private property.I hope people are not stupid. I hope people know this.

Just received a call from Paul Gerber from an investigation firm starting an investigation tomorrow on my company? Read the earlier posts and match up that the client is Altus Global Collection. It seems Altus is a real debt collector but I have no clue why they called me. Should I even call ?

Our receptionist took a call today from Paul Gerber - same story as the others. Directed us to contact Alison Roberts at Altus Global Trade Solutions.

Turned off voice mail and let it ring till they give up.

They called me claiming to be investigators, but would not say what they wanted.
