They called just before 7 PM. Caller I'D said DIRECTV. (note: not Direct TV as your mind may think it says). I said hello and the line remained open. I said what do you want and a thick middle Eastern accent greeted me and I asked again what do you want? His response was " I want to FU** You! I hung up. This is ABSOLUTELY A SCAM! DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY INFORMATION!

I received another call from 800-531-5000 on 9/11/17 at 3:31 PM. My husband answered the call and said they said it was Direct TV. He was on another line, so he hung up. Not sure if this was legit or not. Caller ID display was: DIRECTV MAIN NU.

Toll Free Call came in on Land Line. I did not answer until fourth ring. Party hung up just as I picked up the phone. Probably a scammer, for that's who usually calls here.

I didn't answer. I do not have direct tv - so why the call??

DirecTV calling to inform that they made an error and didn't apply credits to my bill. They have corrected situation and are proactively notifying customers.

Pretty much the exact same thing happened today. I didn't put them on hold and call DirecTV, but I did call them when I got off the phone with this guy. I hate scumbag scammers! It sounded pretty serious until the Amazon gift card was needed to pay the bill six months in advance, that's when I knew for sure it was [***] .

I keep getting calls from DirecTV. First about setting it up and now constantly about free HBO and other things. I do not have DirecTV. I even picked up a couple of calls where there was a live person at the other end and told them they had the wrong number but they keep calling.
