Direct TV- Calling to Welcome me to Direct TV. Im not annoyed by this call since I GAVE THEM THIS #! Guys, you dont want people calling you but you freely give out your main #....what gives? What did you think they would do with your phone #? Send it mail? Get a Google Voice account...free... when you sign up for things that you dont feel you would need/want to get called about (Like your cable, internet, etc??) give them the Google Voice #...you can get #'s in your area so they dont get all weird about it. I cannot speak for anyone who needs to give a 'real' # for services such as DSL or Telephone but if its something like Direct TV, cable etc, using a Google Voice phone # is plausible and keeps your main personal # from being called by these people. You can also get another Google Voice # when you are irritated enough by those calling your current one...=)Frankly I understand where the companies are coming from aside from harassment, but when you give out your phone # do you really expect NOT to be called?BTW- Love my Direct TV...
Interesting. I have taken some of their deals, but it was years ago. In my case they still agreed to put me on the voluntary customer Do Not Call list.Give it a try. Remember that the burdened overhead for them to have a phone rep in the first place is going to be over 80 bucks an hour. Call them a couple times a week and try to keep the phone rep on the call as long as you can with your Do Not Call request.I'm betting they'll get the message!
Well, since DirecTV requires a phone hookup for much of their service its not exactly like one has a choice is it? Really not a problem, and they usually honor their internal Do Not Call list, after all, it would be really stupid to lose a paying customer because you bug them too much.In my case, they "gave" me free showtime, I knew this because I got snail mail and use the web site. When they called I asked to be put on the internal do-not-call list which they gladly did. They were calling to see if I liked my little free gift so much that I would order it. The answer is NO ... Netflix is a much better entertainment value than those outdated Movie channels.
keep calling 3 to 4 times a week trying to collect a debt. never have had direct tv and never will.
Called at 8:19 am this morning. Fortunately I have an outboard call blocker and have it set to block ALL 800-type numbers.
Don't have Direct-TV. Keep getting calls from this number. Sounds like dispatcher leaving messages for a service tech.
A lot of people I know had cancel their service with direct tv. I am one of them. I had a dispute with my bill so I don't want to pay the full amount.Until they finally cut it off.Luckily , my contract had expired so I stay with them for another year.(month to month)But when they disconnected my cable, I ask where I can return the receivers.NO ONE wants to give me the address.I tried to send e-mails to direct tv. but it always failed. The first thing I did is to call my bank that I lost my credit or debit card so I need a new one. This way they don't have access to my account.I finally got the address from my friend who also cancel her service and they send her the pre-paid box for the receivers.I mailed it to them priority and insured it with return signature.Whats funny about it? I received a bill and and the number where I can request for the pre-paid box for the receivers.I called the no. and told them that it was sent back to the co.I told the Reps. that they got it already thats why thy're sending me the address.
This number is being spoofed by a scam involving pretending to be PG&E. They call from 800.713.5000 (looks like it might be a PG&E#), and then claim you're electricity will be turned off in 30 minutes if you don't wire / Money-Pak an increased deposit to them. The CB# changes, but for me, it was 855.588.4979 x201 "Mark Jones", beware of this SCAM!
They have been calling me every day now for about a week. I had them for about 4 months and I wanted to order a movie from them. The rep (home based, I think) told me my system could not support a movie that I would need another dish. I did end up watching the movie that evening...I didn't need a new dish. They still sent out a tech to upgrade me...he said I was fine and didn't need it. Also, I went through the process of doing the rebate thing, twice!I later called about my bill questioning why it was so high. They said my rebates had expired...that I did not turn them in. BS!! I did everything I was supposed to. The rep told me she would then activate the rebate starting on the day that I spoke with her. Later some [***] called to say, "sorry, it's too late."Needless to say, I canceled, sent the equipment back and now they want me to pay over 300.00 for breaking the contract!!! They also told me that I agreed to let them take it out of my account during sign up if I canceled the contract. Funny, most of the people I have talked to said they were ripped off with the rebate issue also. I HEARD ON THE RADIO A FEW DAYS AGO THAT DTV HAD THE WORST RATINGS AND COMPLAINTS WHEN IT CAME TO CUSTOMER SERVICE ACCORDING TO THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU. Go figure.
