Chase Bank or not...for the past few WEEKS they have been calling at least 12 times a day and never leaves a message. Not a recording, no message. Why can't 800#'s be BLOCKED by CALL REJECTION? It's a great feature but c'mon, scam or not...they've figured this one out. I received 53 calls in 2-days after having a new phone line installed. Is the phone company selling a list?
Recently started getting calls from this number, so I decided to look it up online and came across this page. After reading through most of the comments I decided to bite the bullet and call, and as soon as I got a hold of an operator, she asked for my full account number and social security number. I immediately hanged up, however this number isn't a scam; I'm just paranoid about giving that kind of information over the phone. I had already received a letter so many days prior, letting me know that my account was overdrawn, so I plan on paying this as soon as I get paid. (Side note: I use to bank with Washington Mutual but Chase took them over.) This is not a scam. Either you're overdrawn, or they mistakenly called your number. Either way, get it resolved ASAP.
I just got a call from (800) 555-0443 on my mobile phone. When I see numbers I don't know (especially toll-free) I let it bounce to my voice mail. When I checked my voice mail a minute later, all I heard was "8 PM Eastern Time, Thank You." and the voice mail ends. Obviously an automated call.I call the number to see who's calling and it says Chase Bank. What's funny about this is I don't bank with Chase. My parents do, but I bank with US Bank. There's obviously something fishy with this number.
this number has called me once before to my mobile number at that time nobody answered when I said hello and hung up. today this number called me 3 times more but I did not answer that call. please investigate; let them know it is harrasment. thx mic
Asked me for last four digits of my account number, last four of tax ID, name of account and phone number. Said they were Chase bank and had to verify info., then said account was overdrawn.
I called the number and it does say that it is Chase. Then it goes on to say if you are calling about an overdrawn or charged off account to follow the prompts. This is not a scam. I also spoke to my personal banker today and he said that it is a Chase number and that they will keep calling until the account is paid off or brought back to a positive balance.
I have gotten numerous calls from this number too. My case was obviously an attempt to scam - I have no overdrawn accounts with Chase. The real disturbing issue here is this number 1-800-555-0433 is a legitimate Chase Bank Collections Department number which means two equally bad things are happening here:1. a very smart group of EVIL people have tapped/ and are tapping as we speak into Chase telephone number and are trying to scam people, or2. a group of EVIL people within Chase Bank Collections Department, employees of a reputable bank which we trust with our identities and money, are trying to steal from us and destroying the good work and reputation of their company and colleagues. We all know what is worse. A quick review of all the complaints written online showed me this has been happening since 2006 which makes it all the more appalling! I warned all my family and friends and sent a letter to Chase Bank copy furnished to the Better Business Bureau of my State. I urge all of you to step up this good citizenry blogging and do the same to force Chase Bank into investigating the matter and put these EVIL people to jail.Meanwhile, let us all take care of our identities and fortunes. There are pathetic, messed up, EVIL people out there.
Even if you change your phone number and it is unlisted there are websites out there that if you pay a fee you can get ANYONE'S information: address phone, employment , loan info etc...
this number calls me WAY too many times per day. i haven't answered the call yet, but are 8-10 calls per day really necessary?
Well, if you get a call that is supposedly from Chase, and they ask for information they should not be asking for when the call you, simply decline to answer those questions since you cannot verify who they are, tell them you will call the bank directly yourself, hang up, and call the number on the back of your card or go into a branch. If someone says they are from your bank, you should check your account, because if it is a phishing scam, they may have broken in, and if it is not, then you need to contact the bank anyway. But, under no circumstances, reveal personal information about yourself to someone you do not know claiming to be your bank. Just tell them you will call the bank yourself, and then call your and directly.
