I have been receiving calls from 800-555-0433 every day for a few weeks, three times a day at random times as early as 8:00am and as late as 10:06pm. The voicemail pics up dead air.
Yeah it's Chase. After looking on here I found a letter that I received from the collections department with the same phone number. I reamed the operator out about their practice of calling and hanging up, and not identifying themselves. He said that a computer makes the calls and that it's probably an error. Blah, blah. Very unprofessional.
This is absolutely Chase bank. I called back and my call was picked up by the Chase automated system and I was transferred to their collections department. Turns out my account was overdrawn and they wanted to know when I would be able to make a deposit. I verified the number that was called by Chase, my name, address and the last four of my SSN. The rep then made a note that a direct deposit would be going through the next day and gave me the amount of fees I was charged for the overdraft. Not a big deal and completely legitimate. It seems like if you call back ready for fight, you aren't going to get a cooperative response on the other end. Chill out and let go of some of the paranoia.
I have a Chase bank account and was written a check from someone and deposited it in this account. Well, unbeknownst to me, this persons check bounced which caused my account to be overdrawn...this damn number now calls me at LEAST (and I am not over exaggerating)5-10 times a day not only on my cell phone but also at work! I have no idea as to how to get them to stop and me telling them that it is obvious that it was no fault of mine that someone else's check did not clear which subsequently took the funds out of my account but they refuse to give me a week or so to come up with the money to put back in my account! I have never had someone/company call me this much...it passes harrassment and being that they are now calling me at work has really irritated me to the extreme...any suggestions as to what i can do???
YOU GUYS.IT IS AUTOMATED.If you answer it and say hello, it goes "This is a call from Chase Bank regarding your account" or something.I am getting calls because the guy who used to have my phone number was a LOSER.Just call them back and tell them to stop calling during their stupid business hours.DUH.
Called the 800-555-0433 number back. Jingle in the beginning identifies the number as Chase Bank. After a few seconds a friendly rep gets on and identifies herself as a Chase employee (of course I don't really know that). I tell her I am getting calls from this number, but no message. Also tell her I get text messages that indicate my account is overdrawn. I tell her I have no accounts, nor ever had any, with Chase. She asks for the phone number which I give her. She says are you Yolundia .... to which I clearly state no. She says reply to the texts with STOP and those will stop and she will remove the phone number from her records. That. Is. All.
I do not have a smart phone or a phone designed with APPs to block numbers, but I do have 600 spaces for a contact list. when I recieve a text or call from a number I do not recognize I put it in Save in my Contact List...as Unknown Telemarketer.Robo calls...After a day I will call the number and usually it says Press 1 to put on the DNC list. DO not answer numbers or give ANY personal information. Go to the bank and talk to the TELLER in person. My friend ordered new checks fromChase and his girlfriend took the checks out of the mailbox and started writing checks. Chase did not protect him and made no effort to follow fraudulent claims against the account. DONT LET anyone have your personal banking information in this day of Security breaches and Spoofing. He has changed banks and not had ONE single problem. I worked in a bank when your check is put thru the batch encoders. You can write the check out to MINNIE MOUSE and sign it DONALD DUCK and the check will clear. Encoders are only looking at the amount of the check that it matches the Pay 20 Dollars and 19/100. It amazes me the fraud that goes on When you receive your statement check every amount on your statement.DO NOT DO YOUR BANKING ONLINE TOO many crooks.
I just received my second call from this number. the first time it rang once and hung up. The second time I was able to answer. They stated they were calling from Chase Bank and asked me to verify my information. When they asked for my address I gave them the zip code and she was upset that I did not want to give the full address. When she asked what was the best number to call and I told her the one you are calling me from and she asked which was and I told her you dialed it. Yes my account is in negative but my paycheck gets deposited in two days which they should have already known that. I have been banking with them for over 4 years and this is how they treat their customers. Oh well....
