I realized that shortly after I posted, and clicked the ! to notify admins to remove my post, ruefully admitting I did not read other posts, or do my own search, to learn this was indeed a Microsoft number that anyone can call for paid assistance, and not at all like the scammer numbers that have been spammed on other websites like Yahoo Answers. My post needs to be removed.

Sorry but Microsoft does not contact you as a cold call. Do you work for the scammers?

Received call stating they were from Microsoft and they needed to fix my computer. Told them that they were not Microsoft because microsoft does not make these calls and I hung up on them.

These people are harassing me at least 20 times a day!

I got the call too. Didn't answer because I never contacted Microsoft- no reason for them to call me. Knew it was a scammer.U.S. Should have federal law of no telemarketing...this would eliminate all the scammers.

These people are idiots. They called me saying that they are from Microsoft and they have been seeing error messages on my email account and I need to log into my computer immediately so they can fix the issue....funny thing is I don't have a computer right now so I played along and said OK I'm all logged in what's next? The lady said go to this website so being that I had nothing but time on my hands I kept saying "for some reason I can't" that virus must be spreading! What can I do! The lady then instructed me to restart my computer and I said OK about 10 seconds later I said wait now my computer won't turn on. She asked what type of computer do I have I made up some lame computer said I've had it for 36 years. The lady started getting frustrated and said well do you want our help and I said yesssss desperately I need my computer so I can log back in to big booties 12 she hung up on me lol

This number appeared associated with multiple fraudulent credit card charges on my card with the merchant identified as "MICROSOFT *STORE." They were charging $100 every other day. I have an actual account with microsoft store and none of these charges showed up there. This is definitely a fraudster pretending to be Microsoft.
