I just talked to them. They're located in Pakistan, and call themselves, 'Windows Server." Their phone number comes up New Jersey on caller ID. I told him to stop calling me. He said, "No." I told him I was on the National No Call List. He said, "I don't care." Ugh!
Says Microsoft and there is a problem with my computer giving error messages. Wants me to go to my computer. I tell him I don't have a computer and only use my phone and he hangs up. this is 3rd time they have called, now blocked. This is a scam!!!! Please revoke their caller privileges.
caller asked for my name pronounced incorrectly and said they were from microsoft. wished me a happy birthday of which it is not my birthday. when asked what company they were calling from they said they love me and asked me if I loved them. I hung up.
I got a call the name came up as Thompson d 800-642-7676 she said her name was Nicole and she wanted me to verify my email address. she said my email address was used in a crime. i said then why isnt the police calling she said i just need to verify your email address.i said i am not giving it to you she said it to me it was close but wasnt correct. she hung up
This is another in a long line of foreign scams. Whether they are trying to get into your computer or make you pay back taxes that don't exist. They call from a country that has no prosecution laws with the USA so they will just keep calling no matter what. Just block the number and move on.
800-642-7676 call. A guy with an Indian accent said my computer may have been compromised. He called me John, which is not my name. He wanted me to go to my computer and follow his directions. I put the phone down and let him talk to himself for awhile. A few minutes later I get a call from 212-555-1212 (also flagged as a scam number). It was him and he says "John what happened?". I played along for a second and then told him to buzz off.
When i asked them who reported the "computer problem " they said me.... I said " no i didn't ... They hung up... Funny.... I don't even own a computer
