There is a group of people with a foreign accent that is spoofing Microsoft's phone number. It is Microsoft's number, but that is not where the call is really coming from. They say they are from "Windows tech support" and you have a virus. They want you to run a script which would be a bad thing. They call me a couple times a week then again in another month.
I have had more than a dozen calls claiming the same thing. Being a non believer of these type of calls, i said i did not have a computer. They still continued to call me after being told that, so i played along to a point. When it got to the part where they wanted more info, i shared some very dirty words, called them a few nasty names and hung up. I really had to pray hard that night before bed, as i hate using that type of language. Just wanted to share this with you..
This is a Scam that has been going on for some time, Microsoft does NOT call customers back. The trick is toget info of any kind from you..Do not fall prey to these folks..
I received a call today from this number. The girl from India told me that Microsoft is reporting many errors on my computer and that they are going to repair those errors. I asked how much they wanted to pay for their service and again she reported they are from Microsoft and were going to fix errors on my computer. They sent me to a website aimed at getting control over my computer. I refused and the girl hung up on me. This number is not a Microsoft number, nor does Microsoft reach out over the phone to repair computers. Stay away from this company and do not answer the phone.
They didn't call me, but they charged by credit card and this number was listed on my bill. I called the number and it answers as Microsoft but when I pressed a couple prompts it hung up, I tried a couple other prompts and they all end up dropping the call. I then tried reverse search on number on several sites-all came up empty. This number has no connection to Microsoft. I googled this number and came across this site. I've since disputed the charge with my credit card company, they were unable to identify this number either. Crazy people with way too much time on their hands!!!!!!
i never called Mircosoft for support because i never needed support. My Apple products have always worked as expected.
They called me twice in the last 2days I told them that I know this is a scam and that I'm recording the call and i will be forwarding this call to the FBI she got very angry and hung up on me.
Robocall from Xbox customer support (19Dec2013). Never owned an Xbox. It's a scam! Blocked the calling number.
This is a SCAM from a HACKER. No way is Microsoft going to call you to tell you that you have a virus on your computer.... how do you think they would know? Never answer these calls. Just put it in your contact list as scam1 or whatever and that way when they call again, you will know who it's from. Bunch of [***]-willies.
