Any of you people buy or lease a vehicle for Chrysler Financail in ealy 2007. They loss a data tape which contained a lot of different people's personal information. I found that after I found this out and I deal with the CIBC that I get a call from this number about every 3 or 4 months. Problem I believe is not with the CIBC but with the data tape that Chrysler Financail loss. By the way there is a class action lawsuit pending againt Diamond Chrysler and can be googled. If you might be a victim you should join the lawsuit!!
Just to follow up on Brendan's and funny's comments:If you *really* don't want to be contacted anymore, being impolite, rude or even ignoring the call isn't the solution.Politely asking to be removed from the list will do. As Brendan said, most of the calls will likely be about insurance, but on occasion there ARE good promotions to be hand (pre-approved credit cards, lines of credit, among others). If you don't mind missing out on the other offers, just ask that you no longer be solicited by having your number removed from the list.Remember, there is a PERSON at the other end of the line simply doing their job as instructed. You may not like their service, or trust that it's really them, but that is no reason to be rude. Simply follow Brendan's advice on how to verify that it's actually them or be polite and request to be removed.
I have been getting this call as least 5 times a day and its VERY annoying. I never answer it.
Received call and searched the phone number - comes up as CIBC. Tried calling it and the message was to suppy bank card info - I hung up. Many times I've received calls from someone claiming to be with CIBC and wanting my personal info and acct/visa info to verify who I was. I refused and told them I didn't know they were actually CIBC personnel and until they could prove who they were, I would be hanging up. And I did. Supplying your name to 'DO NOT CALL' registry is a waste of time - calls still come through!
We got a call from this number saying it was CIBC selling life insurance , $25 a month for some sort of coveradge .... I told them to get lost and not call again
The man I spoke to was very nice. Slick. He asked me to confirm my home address and work phone number, neither of which I gave. He then pitched a no fee Visa and a tax free savings account to me, ending both pitches with a very oddly worded sentence. If I weren't paying attention, I could have very easily confirmed signing myself up for these things.I'm incredibly wary when it comes to telemarketers. Even though they may be completely legit and are just doing their jobs, I never give out personal info. Just because they know your name doesn't mean they're on your side.
Sorry to say folks, but this number is A-OK...it is simply a follow up call from CIBC about a recent transaction or banking session you did. Therefore, it is NOT a marketing call.
Just because the number that shows on your caller ID reads 800-741-4591 DOES NOT MEAN it is actually where they are calling from. With today 's technology and special softwares (read scamming softwares) you probably can show anything.
