This number called and I answered to get a very nice person in Saskatoon, she said she was from CIBC but could not verify this so I talked with her for awhile. During the conversation she said 800-741-4591 was just an outbound calling they used, she gave me her full name, extension and employee number as well.After talking with her I called CIBC directly and asked to verify her employee number that turned out to be valid. My opinion is that fraud artists are placing the same number on peoples call identification to make them think its indeed CIBC to confuse them and allow them to be defrauded.I suggested to CIBC that they use the call back verification system where clients call either there branch or head office to reach the division or person calling so its actually CIBC and the proper place.Never give any information online unless you call a known number and are assured who you are talking with! If you feel you have been defrauded call the RCMP right away.

If a bank calls you the BANK will show up on your call display.If it says anything else BEWARE.They are not who they say they are.It is best to tell them you are not interested and deal with your bank directly.Just sayin'.Better to be safe than sorry.

Get repeated calls from this number stating they are from CIBC and they would like to verify my information. I do not even have a CIBC account.

Don't give out information,tell them to put you on the DO NOT CALL list.

I got this call at 8:30pm at night - they stated that their cibc and they wanted to go over everything i had with them and she offered me a new kind of savings account. they knew my name, address, birthday and every card i had with them... but then she asked me for my social insurance number..and i hung up because something seemed odd. this lady was very un-professional but they must be legit? just seems very sketchy to me.

This is a legitmate CIBC number, but how on earth can I let them know that I am no interested to take their stupid calls?!They are bothering me!!!

I received this call often and finally answered and had similar experiences to most on this forum. I called CIBC telephone banking and was advised that the number is actually an outbound number from CIBC, and they call customers a couple times a year to discuss their banking needs. I told them it sounded very shady, and to Google the number and see what people are saying online about these calls, especially when some people who aren't even CIBC customers receive them. He said he'd pass on the message to his supervisor and that he'd take my name off their list.

I keep getting calls from this number for the past week almost (at the same time around 8pm too). I never answered until today. They somehow knew my name and asked for me. I just lied and said I dont know who that is and said goodbye. I decided to try and call them back like half an hour later and it said it was CIBC, so I hung up..The weird part for me is I have that number in my phone as my old library from like a year ago, but had moved and changed my number (and name) since.... I dont get it.....
