attention everyone... just received a call from visa informing me they were offering to lower my credit card interest ... they had all the information such as my name and address but they needed to confirm the last 4 digit of my card and credit card balance. I took out my card and asked him what he had on his computer in front of him ... he said he needed me to confirm the #s ... I refused and said I wouldn't give it to him #s in case he was a fraud ... he hung up!! simple reminder to be very careful with your information. thanks.
First of all, no credit card company will ask for your whole card number.None. Unless it's a scam.
Tony Wilson with card member services called me and now I'm reading the reviews I will not answer and trust this company as I was going to try them for help with my situation extension kh117 18008472911
They wanted my information of all my credit cards. Said would lower my APR. Gave them info on a almost maxed out card. Said wanted one with more credit on it or could not help me. Number called from. 50622249019 and 407 379 1524. Reason to beleive that this is a hoax.
Normally don't take calls from unknown numbers but have to now that it may be a new customer. The accent was Indian. The man said his name was Andy Solomon and gave me 800-847-2911 when I insisted on calling them back. He gave me an interest rate that I think was accurate 2 months ago on one of my credit cards. He said he could lower it to 1.9% or 2.9% if I had over $4,000 owed on credit cards. He requested the expiration date on my card because he needed to "make sure my card was valid"...Not sure how that would matter if I still owed money, I would still owe money whether or not the credit card was expired.I called the number on the back on my card and they said this is a 'third party' and was definitely not through my company. My credit card issuer also said that my credit card balance information is 'public record'. What!?! I think she was misinformed. I can see that companies can be set up and receive access to credit information but I don't think it is actually "public record". I continued through with my credit card company's "Privacy Department" to have my information 'not be shared' with 3 choices: third party, affiliates of my credit card company and ...I forgot the last one -Anyway, so annoying -
They have called me several times. I said to stop.I asked to be removed from their list. They said they would.*69 failed to give me the return number.-----This number is for Visa lost cards. I called it. Visa does NOT haveany personal information - only the bank does. So "Consumer services" in Florida is a bogus operation. DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY INFORMATION!!!Visa is aware of this scam. Try to get their actual phone number!
8/25 caller said she was from "Customer Care Center" and / or Credit Card Services. Asked for their number and was put on hold for 6 minutes after which I hung up.8/29 Whitney from "Account Services" although the pre-recorded message you hear that asks you to press 1 was identical to the above. Asked for her number and got the above number which, of course, not who was calling.I don't have caller id. I asked what bank she was from and she said they work with "all the banks". I advised her that we are on the Do Not Call list and please stop calling. They want to lower my APR which I don't care about since I pay my balance monthly.
