This is T-Mobile. A few days earlier I sent back a negative "customer survey," and assumed that would be that. However, T-Mobile called to follow up on my negative report, so it's clear that the call is legitimate.
This REALLY IS T-Mobile!!! Here is my scenario: My daughter had called T-mobile to get her old phone unlocked so she could sell it. They would not do it until an authorized account holder (me or my husband) could verify the account, to prevent fraud. If she had lost her phone and someone found it and called T-mobile to unlock it, I wouldn't have know what was going on.But I did know why I was getting the call and I was contacted by them (legitimately) to verify the account information so my daughter could unlock her phone. So if you are getting a call from them, it is because they are trying to PREVENT fraud, not cause it.
I have been hacked ND dealing with issues for a week. These jerks took remote access of my phone, changed all my passwords, accounts, and deleted pictures from all 3 of my storage cloud. Not only that they stole my tax information along with information of people I do business with. Check your identify, it's not good...
If you ever get a call from the 1-800-937-8997, hang up and call the number back. It will correctly direct you to T-Mobile
Did not answer, left no message. It was on my Verizon phone. If number is not in my phone book it goes straight to voicemail.
Just because it is supposed to be a valid number does not mean that is the actual company that is calling you. Yes, if you google the number it shows up as T-Mobile's customer service. Yes, if you call that number back, you will get T-Mobile's customer service. However, the call that I received displayed T-Mobile's customer service number (a number with which I am familiar) but the caller said that my Bank of America account had been compromised. When I asked why T-Mobile's customer service would care about my Bank of America account (which I do not actually have), he promptly hung up. So yeah, there are some scammers who are disguising their number w/ T-mobile's to get info and people might want to be a little on guard if you're not expecting a real call from t-mobile.
