Number calls me at least once I day, I don't pick up and they don't leave a message. I got suspicious and looked up the number, it belongs to same guy named Larry Scinto who owns a business called Capital One Funding in VA. This is NOT Capital One. When you call this number back, first thing it asks you to do is enter your 16 digit credit card number. If you enter in a bunch of 0's a few times it eventually takes you to a different menu. Play around with those choice, you'll either get a live person who speaks bad English again asking for your credit card number, or another menu tree which asks you for your 9 digit SSN. Total scam, this is definitely NOT legit.

I cannot call 800-955-7070 for service. It asks me to say or enter my 16-digit card number.1. If I say it, it yells foul before I've said 16 numbers (must not be used to us Southern folk: each number has three syllables, you know :-)2. If I key it in my cheap cell phone, it times out. To bad I don't always get a number when I feel a click :(Open Statement to Capital One:I pay every month. I am what is known as a GOOD CUSTOMER. Please don't sell me down the river in favor of a new customer who might be a bad debt. I am voting to keep your company from getting more Federal Welfare.

The phone rings 1/2 ring and hangs up. When I call back it wants my credit card number.. Says that it's capital one.. Sorry, but I'm not a dumba$$.. I don't give out my credit card number, dob, or social security number on the phone unless I know exactly who I am speaking with. If this were a legit call, there would be other options.. like being able to talk to a real person without giving out your number. Anyone know how to report this number to the right authorities?? Thanks!

Its not fraud. They called to tell me about changes being made to my credit card due to the new rules set by the Obama administration. There is an option the have on the account that will allow you to go over the limit in an emergency, and pay a $29 fee. You have to agree to keep it on your individual account, or Obama's rules say it must be taken away by February 22nd, 2010.

I RECEIVE NUMEROUS CALLS A DAY FROM 1-800-955-7070. I AM ON THE DO NOT CALL AND/OR SOLICIT LIST AND WOULD LIKE THESE CALLS TO STOP IMMEDIATELY.

I have two accounts in good standing and have been telling these idiots I do not want to opt in since last fall. In the last two weeks, I'm averaging 4-5 calls per day and even tried to change my phone # online (but of course, it couldn't find that link). Right now, I pick up and hang up without saying a word. Time for the air horn. I know they are worried about their revenues, but this is ridiculous. I will be monitoring these accounts for inactivity fees and closing them ASAP!! No more business with Capital One!!

My wife has received calls from this number several times but did not answer (if you call and cannot leave message - its not important). I "googled" this number and reading some of these comments, I too am concerned of this SCAM. What do we do?
