I think these scam companies must be able to manipulate our caller IDs somehow. I say that because, I received a call from this phone number. When I answered the man spoke very poor English and knew my name. The man continued to say that his company, something medications, had a special price for my prescription refill. I asked several times how they had my number and knew my name, but the man just went back into his sales pitch. After the 3rd call from that number on the same day, I demanding I be taken off their call list and for them to stop calling me or I was reporting their number and name to authorities. I haven't gotten a call since, but its only been a few days.Hope that helps.

It is very easy for anyone to spoof (fake) your Caller ID. Just Google spoof caller id and you will see many companies offering products which purport to allow anyone to place fake numbers on your caller ID. It is illegal for a collector to mask their identity so there is a lawsuit right there. As for telemarketers, a little harder, but if you are on the DNC list then there is another lawsuit or complaint.

I didnt answer the call I got from this number last night a 7pm, but I have recieved this call about the prescription card. The man that called was not very friendly and spoke to me like I was a moron. He even made a conference call to my pharmacy to ask them if they accepted the plan. He was extremely rude to my pharmacist and his receptionist. He was very pushy, telling me I must have been referred by my physician when I asked how he got my name. I told him Id have to think about it and asked him to call me in a week. Never heard back from him. pretty sure this is a rip-off company. I dont remember the name of the company, but I did look them up that day and they have tons of lawsuits against them.DONT BUY INTO THIS!!!!!

I received a call from this number 800-955-7070 at 12:02 PM. they stated it was from Capital One

I get calls from this number once a day on my cell phone. I have a C.O. bank account and CC, but I am not going to answer if they don't ever leave a message. It's all very annoying.The one time I did answer, I wasn't in a position to speak to them, ans after explaining that, his reply was to the effect of "Well, THIS call is very important; did you know that the new legislation ((blah blah blah)and don't you want to save $ and protect your (blah blah blah)???" I said "Didn't you hear me? I CANNOT TALK NOW" and hung up.After a week or so the calls started again. UNGH!!

Never got a call like this before-I answer and some guy asks for me by name then asks how I'm doing tonight. I say, "Great and who is this?", a little short with him. I forget the name he gives then starts in with the same bit as the last guy about new government legislation concerning credit cards and blah blah blah.Then he cuts himself off and says my account info isn't coming up on his computer and he'll have to get back with me.This reeks of scam regardless if Capital One shares the same #. Do what I do- save the # under the name DO NOT ANSWER!!!

CALLED TO TELL ME TO ACTIVATE ME CARD...BELIEVE ME I FI WANTED IT ACTIVATED I WOULD HAVE ALREADY DONE IT!

800-955-7070 is the number on the back of my Capital One credit card, so it is a valid number for Capital One. I have yet to be home when they call, but I really wish they'd stop littering my caller ID with their spam.

Same thing for me. Legitimate call. I had not activated my new card either. So they did that over the phone, and then explained the new federal legislation that ends over the limit transactions to be processed unless you opt in.

Keeps calling twice a day for a week now. Everytime I answer they hang up
