I am not an ebay client and I got this phone call as well, they did not leave a message though...If all of the top google search results say this is a scam it probably is. Just dont be stupid, call ebay back at a different number and see why they were calling.

They called me as well today, at 9:42 am. I didn't answer because I did not recognize the number. I'm glad that someone else was having complaints too.
This number is legitimate, its the outgoing number that eBay uses for its Salt Lake City branch...could be anything from an outreach call to Trust and Safety issues.
Got a call from 801-545-1800 clamming to be ebay.. I found it strange since ebay doesn't call they contact you through your messages and email. I gave no info. I called ebay and gave them the phone number, they did verify it is not ebay calling.
It just happened to me. A message on my anwering machine. From a foreign person. Only understood word feedback.
This is NOT legit...I got the call today and it seemed fishy so I called eBay directly when I got home. They said they had no record of eBay contact me and told me to report it to the police and change all my passwords (paypal and ebay). Also, while changing my password I noted that eBay had an old phone number under my account info...how this 801-545-1800# got my CELL # and KNEW my email address I will never know.

just got a call from 888-431-7820. Told me I was breach of contract. Very hard to understand the lady. I dont have a contract with anyone that I know of. When I look to see the number call it tells me Claim Services.
