They told me the same info and i had 24 hrs. not 48 and the called my personal cell and my work cell What did you do?

Okay, So I'm 17 and I got a call to my house asking for me saying I have a restraining order. I asked for a birthday and they gave me my actual date of birth, (for a minute i was thinking it was for my aunt which has the same name) but what the hell, if i knew how to report these people i would because its annoying, i call back the number and they put me on hold. -____- this is just plain stupid, but i'm glad i found this page before i started having my parents call the lawyers!

Got a call from this number and a person named Special Investigator Archer. He said there was a court action against me and it sounded like somethng about a restraining order and that there was a court action for me to appear and that I had 48 hours to respond and talk to my attorney. He referenced a file number. I had registered with the do not call list but how did they then get my number??? SCAM

There was a message at 6:30 AM on my answer machine from this number addressed to me. Where do they get this information?No identification for the lady’s voice as this part was mumbled, and there was no understandable reference to the subject matter.She said I or my attorney should respond within 24 hours: 1-803-369-3108. "A special investigator" is investigating something.There is a "restraining order," and a claim with its affidavit # with six characters mixing letters and numbers was provided."Court Action; must appear; your attorney; and Show cause" were words used ("must appear" in South Carolina?).Why do they use all of these legal terms? Plain English would do.The first sentence or two sounded intentionally garbled; this may have been their ID and subject material.If this is a scam and people are being harmed, why doesn’t someone request an investigation by the FBI, the local police department or the mayor’s office in this South Carolina city? 1-803 is located in the Rock Hill area, which is 70 miles north of Columbia. It is also near Charlotte.
