Answered the phone, got the message that it was a "debt collector" and to press 1 to "talk to an agent." Pressed 1 and the phone hung up. Checked caller ID, called them. They were looking for someone I do not know. I said that I had this number for 11 years and no person by that name ever lived here. They apologized and said they would take this number off their list.Great, huh? Except this is the 3rd time they have told me that! Now, they get to be reported to my State Attorney General.

left a message on my work phone saying that it was Imperative that I return the call if I did not then they would "assume that no reply is your reply." Who are these people?

called said it was imperative to call 1-832-476-1740 which did, they asked for my wife and I said she is not here they implied that she was, i advised not to call again and they stated they would call whenever they wanted as is is not harassment, I told them Im not valerie and you are harassing me, i owe you nothing, they said she did and will call till they get ahold of her. I stated I was contacting the states attys office and the girl said go ahead you dont know my name and hung up. That is a definete violation of the fair credit act, they have to identify themselves upon request. I then contacted an attorneys office. we will see what happens.

This Company Avante is completely rude, crass and unprofessional. They threatened that they would garnish my dead mother's wages as well as mine if I didn't pay a bill that they wouldn't even tell me about. What kind of idiotic company is this and why do they even think that they have any right to harrass people when they don't even have their information straight. Dipsh$@#!

I have received 3 of their calls now. Tonight, I called back and they either transferred me to a voice mail or hung up on me. I finally talked to "Tracy" and she claimed she was removing my number from their system. The person they are trying to reach has my name but not the same SS# and is not even in the same part of the country. I expect another call next month. Anyone find anything to do aout this? What state are they in?

These people called my husband looking for his ex-mother in-law,when he told them he hadn't talked to her in more then % years they got very rude and hateful so he just told them if they called our home again that would report them to the BBB in Houston, TX. were the company is based and he would contact a lawyer on harrasment charges !!! (oh and if you look up people finders on the net and put their # in it will tell you that it is a residental # !)

They have called my phone # several times, always with a hang up- the company is called AVANTE- I looked it up online and it is in Texas..if in fact, it is a collection company, it is not a reputable one because I have no overdue bills of any kind, including my credit cards. Most of the time, they hang up because I won't answer calls that don't have any caller id. I called my local telephone company and they told me to call the federal trade commission to stop the harassing calls. The strange thing is that the numbers that constantly do this are all of the numbers that I find on Google that call and harass others. The worst beign the energy companies that yell at you! Amazing creeps out there today!

I have been recieving calls from this number -832-476-1739 for several weeks. Whether I answer the phone or not, there is a recorded voice identifying itself as a debt collector and asking me to call back. They never use my name. I'm wary of calling the number, because I know that I do not owe any debts. I am on the National Do Not Call List, and intend to report them at the federal level as well.
