Im concerned about getting billed as well even though I am not attending the presentation the lady scheduled me for! I don't know how she would get ahold of my credit card info but you never know how these scammers work! She confirmed my name over the phone but that is it. Has anyone gotten scammed without attending the demo?
I recived a phone call tonight. I was wondering if anyone and gone to it yet, and if so did u get the trip?
Hi, totally new to this board, but I went to one of the shows last night. I ended up buying the cookware, but after a night of only about 3 hours sleep I am canceling my order. You can go to the show and receive the vacation for free. (On the document it notes you need to pay $50 as a deposit - it also notes it goes to the travel agency, not this rp brides/21st century brides), not sure if you get the deposit back or not. (Also, the sales rep we had was not pushy at all - I just really like to cook so I figured it would be a good investment). The cookware was very impressive during the presentation. If it had a guarantee of 50 years and great customer service I think the price is fair. From hours of looking at complaints it sounds like their customer service department sucks and it isn't a hedache I want to deal with for the next 50 years. The biggest downsize for me is they are using small companies to generate contracts which then turn around and sell to Hy Cite (which is in the bbb). You have three days from the time of your order to cancel. So thankfully from reading other people's post I should be able to inform them by writing my choice to cancel. Just know it could be a really good product. I just wouldn't suggest the finance plan... 24% interest.
i recieved a call about winning a bridal package. knowing it might be a scam i decided my fiance and i go. we get to the wingate hotel and we get free chocolate and coffe then this guy asked us if we are here for rp briefs royal prestige ok so we sit fill out a survey watch a video they show us cookware and knives so its all over. we get to talk to the rep who tries to sell us 2000 worth of cookware but discuss payements. not interfsted i asked for my package. ok so you get a coupon book and a free hotel wrong you pay 50 deposit and you need to pay for air fare food and of course anything else. interesting thing is you pay money to this co not the hotel. and it asked you for a major credit card. so its a trick to get you to buy cookware. its good cookware so i looked on amazon and you can get your own cheaper 200 cheaper. thanks but no thanks.
I just wanted to drop in and tell you guys that I had the same phone call but mine was from a Marissa. My mom and I were skeptical and so I googled it and this forum came up and I am glad it did because I don't have time to be dealing with scammers. I too registered with David's Bridal and that is probably where they got my info. I think we should band together and make David's Bridal pay for giving out our info. On a happier note congratulations on the engagements and I hope everything is going well for everyone.
I got a call from this number today with the this story: my fiance and I have won a bridal package from a drawing held by "a local bridal shop". I haven't entered any drawings that I know of, and the only bridal shop that I've given my number to was David's Bridal, who apparently sell their customer's information! The woman calling said her name was "Nancy".
i just got a phone call from that number. since i don't pick up for numbers i don't know, i let it ring. THey didn't leave a message. But i know that David's Bridal has my phone number and i saw other people said that too.
Haven't been to a bridal convention in 3 years. But did get a phone call 845-774-8697 ... didn't answer, left no message. Was followed *IMMEDIATELY* by a phone call + message from 845-782-7122."Hello this message is for Ernie. Congratulations from RP Brides, you and your fiance have been selected for a bridal package. Please contact Lyn at 845-782-6759."(there is no Ernie at this number -- note that callback # was yet a THIRD number)
