I had registered at Davids Bridal online while browsing through wedding dresses. About a month later i get this call while im over at my fiancee's house and ignore the call because of the long distance number that popped up on my cell. When i saw that i got a voicemail I checked it and a lady named Jessica told me I had won a trip as well as a bridal package and told me to call 631-271-2025, when she called me from a completely different number. So i was like what the hell, I called the number, no one answered, eventually they picked up two days later, and when i asked for jessica they gave me to this extremely rude woman (who was not jessica) and told me they had left my area and would give me a call back when they came back to where i was. I then searched 21st century rp bride and got this forum, and there website. it was a big downer me and my fiancee were both stoked and could not wait to leave on our cruise and receive our gift, whatever it was. We were in bad need of money since both our parents refuse to pay for wedding and honeymoon because of the economy and lack of money. So I guess me and my fiancee will just have to keep saving. Thank you everyone for your very needed information, you saved us allot of trouble.
This is a scam they are trying to get you in there to buy some cookware and your free gift is a coupon book with a dollar off here and there that equals $1000 and your free vacation for 3 days and 2 nights is on a monday- thursday and you still have to pay 50 bucks and use a major credit card.
I got a call from 21st century RP brides. They called saying that I won a prize and congratulated me on my engagement. I responded with skepticism and they tried to assure me that there weren't any traps. I agreed to go to their show but not before searching for them online. Everything I've seen online says its a scam. I even googled their phone number and the complaints that I saw seem endless. I'm very sad and disappointed that there are people out there that try to ruin a beautiful time.
Received a call from same number (Iris at RP Brides) saying we won a prize. I'm always careful about giving my phone number out. In fact,I only gave it to a local business (David's Bridal). Hmmmm
Your right....David's Bridal sold my number too!!!!!!!!! They are the ONLY business I've given my phone number to.
I, myself, just got a call from RT or RP Brides, The message was muffled and there were a lot of phones ringing in the background. This sort of thing has happened to me before. I was told by an agency who acquired my info from a sweepstakes I entered, that I had won a free 3 night stay at any Marriott and $300 gas card. I had to sit through a high pressure sales pitch for pre-paid vacation time at a list of resorts. They tried their hardest to get whatever $$ I had, but by the end, they thanked me for my 4 hours and told me to wait in another room for my gifts. The gift was a voucher for a 3 night stay which I had to register with another company within 30 days of receiving it and they would send me availability for the location I wanted. I attempted this only to find out that the voucher I was given was already expired. I called the agency that gave it to me, they told me I had to call the agency that prints the vouchers, they gave me a number to call which I never got an answer at. I got a run around, so as far as Im concerned, it IS a scam and a waste of my time. Oh yeah, and that gas card...I would have had to spend $100 in gas in one month in order to receive a $25 gas card. I could only get one a month of to $300 and if I fail to spend $100 in gas within one month, I couldnt get the $25 card....scam scam scam scam.....
DAVID'S BRIDAL SELLS PHONE NUMBERS!!!! The scam company brought my phone number from them. I spoke with the manager at the local David's Bridal store, and she took my number out out of her systme. In addition, I requested the corporate number 800-823-2403. No response from the corporate office yet!!!
I recieved a call from 1-845-782-6759 from a "Michele" again I thought this was a scam and of course it is. They stated that I had one a bridal package. It is sad that you search for bride information and scum like these people get a hold of your phone number and harrass you, they should get a life and get a real job as we all do. A person getting married is a happy occasion and should not be bother but such dishonest scum out there. The message was given to me by my mother that answered the phone, otherwise I would of told them to get a "life" and stop bothering people.
Sitting through a presentation doesn't always mean something is a scam! Honestly, if personal information isn't required, who cares? It's worth a try.I contacted the President of the company, who promptly responded. I was informed that this is purely their marketing tactic, and that I would receive a trip even without purchasing an item! I'm going!
I got this phone call twice now and it is a SCAM. "Donna" said that I had won a bridal package, and a $1000 grocery card for my fiance and I. I knew that this could not be true, for the simple fact that I had never signed up for any of this. I am though signed up with Davids bridal, so I put 2 and 2 together. Word of advice DON'T I repeat DON'T give any personal information to David's bridal. Thanks for all the great info from all the other posters.
