I just got a call from them too, Portfolio 859 586 9557, on a debit I paid off well over 6 years ago. She stated it was not and then asked me for my current address. I stated I would rather not, and I would rather go through a credit correction agency, some one ** I ** approached before I would give my information out to some on the phone, as I did have my information stolen before. Then she said she had my SS#, all my info, and *** to stop mouthing off ***..... What?! Excuse me, I'm mouthing off? No. You have a good day. CLICK! Stored in my phone now as Do not answer! What lousy lousy telephone/ customer service skills!

Jon, that's a good question. Unless you have a call blocker that allows you to universally block all area codes, their numbers are limitless. This company has been sued and lost more times than Phillip Morris Cigarette company, and they keep coming back because the profit potential is so great. They primarily deal in buying up old 3rd party debt or Zombie debts for almost nothing and try to collect from anyone who will pay them. Most debts are out of Statute of Limitation, yet they are extremely successful because the average person that they go after has no clue as to their rights under the Fair Debt collections act. The principals of this company are truly low lifes themselves, but I won't get into their previous legal problems here.You hit the nail on the head with capitolized BOTTOM FEEDERS.

How many numbers do these SCAMMERs have anyways?this time it shows only Burlington KY?(and this is after getting calls that show up as only 000-000-0000 too .. or name unavailable)

they have about a half dozen different locations that they make calls from. they also have been known to utilize other associated collections companies. They used to not spoof caller IDs but i guess the public has become so aware their type of callers that they no longer answer when it says PRA....What i don't understand is how they are able to use illegal calling methods and get away with it when they are a high profile company. They have been fined repeatedly by the FTC or FCCs but apparently not enough. They are as low as trash can get as far as I am concerned.

Portfolio Recovery started calling about 3 years ago then stopped a year later. They again started about a year ago with all new numbers. I have never answered any calls from them.

These idiots have been harrassing me for years. They use all kinds of illegal ways to get you. I cannot believe they keep trying. This is a hospital bill that was the first paid by my insurance company in 2001. What morons. I have told them the bill was paid and I had proof but they still persist in calling and bothering me. They call very early, real late whatever they want.. I am really getting tired of it and have decided to contact an attourney...enough already...The fair debt collection act will definately apply here and I am about to use it...Portfolio is about to be sued back...lol
