calls several times a day and never leaves a message....caller ID says Burlington KY. If you're gonna call 400 times at least leave a message!!

These knuckleheads call our house 4 to 6 times daily, but never leave a message. We don't answer, because whoever they are, and I assume they must be some kind of collection agency, they must have a wrong number when they call our house. We have no debt and have never had an account go into a collection status in the past. We signed up on the "do not call" list, but these idiots apparently think they are above the law and continue to call at all hours of the day and night.

These unethical liars called saying I needed to cooperate with them or else.... or else what? I am on social security,fixed income and have not worked in over 12 years and do not need to as I am in my late 70's. I have never owed anyone and currently have no outstanding debts. So I hope when this financial system is changing soon, predator organizations like these are dismantled and the people working there including the owners spend the rest of their days in jail or terrorizing people like myself for no good reason at all.

Portfolio Recovery buys old debt, I believe, pennies on the dollars.The so called debt may not even have been yours but someone with the same name or another family number. I owe no new or old debts and my credit report is clean. We never answer numbers we don't recognize. They use to use one number that stated they were Portfolio Recovery but since March they are using a bunch of numbers. If you don't recognize the number, don't answer. They robo call all the time hoping someone answers!

This place is a scam selling bogus taint wart and boil removal systems. They will tell you they are Medicare approved! They are most certainly not!!

They have called from Kentucky, Pennsylvania and Georgia according to my caller id. I answered once and made sure that I told the person, who was rude as hell, that they cannot call me and if they keep calling I would record the number of times they've called and from what numbers and contact my states attorney general and the FTC. they said you can't do that. I have sent a cease and desist letter to them and am awaiting for the signature receipt from the post office. Now when they call I either don't say anything, not even "hello" and just sit there in silence. You can hear a person on the other end breathing. I've even gone as far as downloading rude ring tones from zedge.net and when they call I have the cell sitting there waiting for them, so when I answer the phone I play the rude ringtones. they usually don't call again that day after hearing that.

Thanks all for the info! It is indeed Portfolio, a company who has been hounding me from 8am til 7pm at night for a Fashion Bug account that I closed (paid in full) about 12 years ago. Somehow they got my magic jack # and have been calling every day for about 6 months. I'm beyond frustrated ~ how do I prove that I paid it off and voluntarily closed my own account!!?? They sent me a "settlement" letter recently as well ~ How do I get them off my back!!?? Isn't this illegal? Thanks for letting me vent ~ sorry to hear all of your problems with them as well.

I must have blocked 100 ph#'s from Portfolio over the past 5 years. How do they keep going??? Whatever debt (if any) they do have on me is at LEAST 12 years old, and can't be any significant amount. How can they afford to do this. It seems like they'd be losing money even if the collected 1 in 100 debts (optimistic estimate)! How can they have all these ph#'s??Anyway. Another one blocked.

these morons are trying to collect on a debt that is illegal1. it is over 12 years old2. it only involved a 300.00 credit charge3. the bank incorrectly processed a stolen credit card report - due to my being mugged4. the bank incorrectly processed a new credit card stating they could only issue me a temporary5. the bank who sent me that temporary - stated I could not use the temporary due to it being a stolen card = WTF6. the bank would not allow me to make any payments that I owed on the credit card that I reported stolen7. the bank forgot to process - the few charges I made on the temporary - that they said was stolen8. the bank after 2 months of not allowing me to make payments started hitting me up with double late fees - on one statement - the credit card that I reported stolen and the temporary they issued...ALL THIS TIME - THEY NEVER SENT ME A REPLACEMENT AND I TOLD THESE F88888KERS - SINCE THEY REFUSED TO TAKE MY $$$$, SINCE THEY REFUSED TO SEND ME A NEW CC - THEY HAVE ABSOLVED ME OF ANY MONEY THAT I OWED.THIS IS ONCE AGAIN A BANK F8888888KUP==============================================================================Portfolio Recovery = THEY CALL ME HOME AT LEAST 5 TIMES A DAYWHOPPIE - TOO BAD - I AM NEVER HOME
