I don't know what is going on in our country here ... seems like no law and/or accountability toward these people who make harassment calls. I wish they can be caught and punished.
These SOB's have been trying to collect from me since about 1995....they don't know the meaning of "Statute of Limitations" and after at least 2 years of No Calls-Guess who I get a call from this morning out of the blue??? "Portfolio Recovery". I've had no debts on credit since at least 2001 and here we are in 2015.
They called me from 859-586-9557 this morning.They called me from 731-345-4195 this evening.I've set MAJIK JACK to pick up after 5 Secondsso all calls go directly to Voice mail.I called back BOTH NUMBERS and confirmedPortfolio Recovery [***]. Why do they call me twicein one day when I've heard nothing in about 2 years.
Wow! From December 2013 to August 2014, no reported calls from this Portfoolio number, and now, here we are, back in business at 859-586-9557. Wonder how they decide to use or not use any particular one of their hundreds of numbers? This was call #583 !!!!! since their dopey lawyer, Pearson, wrote me a letter four years ago, stating they had "decided to cease collection efforts" on this unverified "debt" from 1997. Take a long walk, Portfoolio, off a very short pier.
They call me all the time. They've never sent me anything, are very vague on what I supposedly owe, and whom I owe it to. After reading all these posts, I am very grateful that my answering machine takes their calls. The cowards never leave a message.

This is interesting--they called me at 8:21am on a Sunday! They DO have lots of numbers--you're right. And, I know for a fact this call isn't for me: it's for another family member, but they called on my cell phone number. No message left yet...2 minutes from the call and counting. I don't answer calls from numbers I don't recognize, so they can have at it!
