These people find "debts", even if they are paid and try to collect on them again. Until they will send you written proof of the debt (that you can verify with the original creditor) DO NOT SEND THEM MONEY, EVER!!
First of all, this is not NCO. It is not directly associated with NCO.Secondly, in order to successfully sue someone, you have to have a legal reason. Which means if you want to sue, you need to learn the law, and do the simple steps to turn what they're doing into a violation. You probably won't get to sue, since they'll stop . . . but they'll stop.Thirdly, NCO, these people, and Equifax are different companies. It's legal and proper for Equifax, when calling you, to have their name in your Caller ID.Fourthly, there is a simple way (In case you missed it in "Secondly," above.) to get them to stop. Learn it, do it, and you won't have to make all of these bogus connections between unrelated companies for unrelated debts. Well, come to think of it, the debts are related: you incurred all of them. Finally, instead of trying to mess with them using an auto-dialer, why not spend the money on paying your debt? It seems like Nextel and Sprint are not the only companies you didn't pay . . . or waited years and years before you got around to it.
I am not sure who this company is, but this has been happening for a while. I WANT IT TO STOP!!!!!
I failed to include the actual idea I had in mind, when posting above. Rather than trying to harass this particular kind of harasser . . . harass those who chose to sic 'em on you. Of course, if you owe the money, it's a different story. But, if you've paid, or if they're trying to call someone you've never heard of, or in some other way have it wrong, but won't stop . . . call the creditor.Based on what's posted here, I have to assume this harassment is being done on behalf of the City of Houston. If so, since Mayor Anise Parker wants to keep that title after the upcoming election, it seems appropriate to call her office and her campaign every time the jerks make my phone ring. That's a narrow enough and specific enough target that it might even be effective. Time will tell. Meantime, I'll think of every one of those calls as coming from one of the other candidates, asking me for help and my vote. I can help 'em all, but it's a shame I only get to vote against her one time.I hope the other postings are correct, since the robo-caller didn't identify itself, or the purpose of the call.
This is that Professional Account Management LLC from Milwaukee, keep calling me about a parking ticket from Providence RI three years ago that was paid-- refuse to cease and desist, refuse to get Providence to correct the records, now all they do is call and immediately hang up simply to be annoying. They surely have some kind of automated system to place annoyance calls-- would love to see them get nailed for that programming. Pretty stupid on their part to spend so much time and effort trying to collect a debt that doesn't exist and could land them in court. Carinabean-- you tried to pay and the city wouldn't take the payment. Just keep your records straight in a neat folder and at a point tell the collector you'll sue for harrassment. Also, next chance you get, stop their spiel and tell theml straight out to remove you from their calling list. They have to do it (as if!). But at least you'll be on their record to stop calling.
No way... I swear to you, the same thing is happening to me. Same thing: my car has been given a ticket in 2007, and the City of Houston, what, took 6 YEARS to come looking for me? with no notification at all regarding the initial ticket or any arrest warrants that likely would have issued? Please tell me, what happened with you? How did you handle the caller(s)?
They keep calling my son's phone - He is 11. Don't think he has any outstanding tickets or debt anywhere - especially associated with his cell number since he just got his phone.
I pay tickets under the a program that dc had. DC have collected a lot of money for tickets.
