It is actually the Chase fraud department (option 3). I got a missed call and voice message from them, I was hesitant to call them back after reading all these comments below but when I tried to log in my chase.com account, an error showed with a message saying I needed to call that exact same number. So I did, they just asked me for my account number, confirmed my first and last name, and they sent me a text msg with a code (without asking my cell phone number) to verify I was the owner of the account. They asked me if I wanted to approve my latest transfer (which I did this morning) for $XXX dollar amount to the account I was sending it, and that was it. After that they unblock my online banking and I could access again.
Chase Bank to verify transaction....legit.
This is a phising call. This was confirmed by Chase fraud department. When you get calls like this answer but don't talk, because these are computer generated it confuses the computer then disconnects. research the number and call your card/bank to confirm.
I am FED Up of chase, how they want to control your money, it's your money and they stop you from transferring to your own external account. My family, they are all closing their chase accounts.
one chase rep did not recognize the number but another chase rep did.if you're unsure, call the number on the back of your card and ask to be transferred to the loss prevention department.
This is a REAL NUMBER, I called my local Chase and they verified it. Just do the same!
It is indeed Chase Bank's Fraud Dept. Opened a new account at Chase with a check from my previous bank - because it was a large sum, Chase wanted to release the funds to me ASAP, so they wanted to verify me with my previous bank. Chase called me, conferenced in my previous bank, and my funds were immediately released.
Yes, I am in Mexico using the credit card ending in 9853 for electrical repairs. For some reason I cannot call the 800 numbers for loss prevention. Could someone from lost prevention call me re the changes art [removed]. Thank you
It is legit. To some people asking why people would post its legit, when this page is to report scams, the answer is simple. When I got a call from this number, I got scared. I didn't have to give out personal information like my SSN or password but had to answer a set of autogenerated ridiculous set of questions which I found quite funny. And then the person went on to check a transaction that I scheduled today. There is no way anyone else would have known that. Why I am writing here is because, i came to this website to find out if I was fooled. And after reading this I believe it was legit and I am writing a comment just to counter the person saying that people come here only to report scams which isn't true.
..you don't seem to understand that scammers also "spoof" real numbers - so it looks like they're calling from Chase or whoever. That's why it's always best to call back and just call the number on the back of your card.
