Called today twice , left voice mail for another party requesting an immediate call back, because of suspicious activity on the account. I called back and told them I had no chase accounts , being I could not understand the parties name they were calling for. I verified my phone number, which they had anyway, the rep thank me and that was it. I will leave it up to the Chase customers to determine the validity.I gaveigave
It does appear to be a genuine Chase number, but why do they ask for your debit card PIN, expiry date and security code - that which would be of most use to a scammer and something Chase themselves tell you to NEVER give out over the phone. I wouldn't give any of that over the phone, even if it was being keyed into an automated 'system', and had to go to the branch to sort it out. You'd have to be nuts to give that kind of information to some [***] Indian calling from a number you don't recognise. They seriously need to get their [***] together.
if you get a call from this number, while peaking with them try and log onto your bank account. It might give you this number instructing you to call AND I was not able to log onto my account until I did. IT IS LEGIT!
This is the correct number to Chase's Loss Prevention & Fraud. They cover wide ranges of online transactions to deposit holds etc... If you don't feel comfortable calling, call the number on the back of the card and tell them to transfer you to Loss Prevention & Fraud. Sometimes it may be debit card fraud depending on the issue. They also make calls to non customer to verify checks written, quik pays etcc..
Not sure why all the fighting is about. It's a Chase number. Here's the message from Chase's website with the number: We're sorry - we suspended your access to chase.com because of recent activity on your account. To re-activate your access, please call us at 1-877-691-8086 and choose option 3. If you are outside the U.S., please call us at 1-713-427-6380. Commercial customers please contact your Client Service Professional or Client Service Officer.
Has to be a scam. I DON'T HAVE A BANK ACCOUNT WITH CHASE! And I don't plan on calling them back.
Got the call from them, didn't want to enter card number/exp date/PIN, especially since the guy talking seemed kind of nervous. I called them back and it turns out that it was actually a valid call in this case. I had put a large transfer to an external account, and that raised a flag.Still won't ever enter my card/PIN number if someone initiates the call; I'll always be the one to make the initial call. Chase needs a less shady way to do this.
This is legit Chase number from Fraud department. They called me to verify my recent wire transfer activity.Initially the lady was asking me to enter automatic verification but somehow the system is not working so she asked me some questions from public record. I thought it's a scam too but actually she's only asking multiple choice questions like which address were you associated with before.I verified with Chase cust service from the phone # at the back of the card and they verified it as Chase's fraud dept number also.SO IT"S A SAFE NUMBER.
