Why doesn't the FCC have the co-jones to stop this? I guess if you can not find Osama you can not find telephone spammers. Thanks Washington DC you are doing a fine job as usual.
Rec'd 2 calls from 888-123-4567, about 2 hours apart. Caller ID says it's "800 Service". They've called me numerous times using other seemingly non-existing numbers: 800-682-0233, 800-658-0047, 877-464-8121 and 866-863-4531 are some of the non-existing numbers they use on their Caller ID.
If you don't do something, they will keep hammering you 4,5, or 6 times a day. After a three days, I answered. It was GMAC, my mortgage company trying to sell me 'accident insurance'. So if everything was on the up and up, why didn't they identify themselves through caller ID? I would have been much more likely to answer if I knew who it was..
the FTC is another co-opted, totally REPUBLICAN SCUM RUN ORGANIZATION, they aren't going to do their jobs anymore than my cats are going to prosecute these filth. the DO NOT CALL LIST is BOGUS and DOESN'T DO ANYTHING, UNDER REPUBLICAN SCUM RULE!!!!!
They call 2-3 times a day and don't leave any messages. I finally answered and they said they were Wells Fargo and wanted to offer me a free $15 gas card just for trying a insurance policy they were offering. It sounds like a scam to me. I told them no, and that I am on the do not call list and I will report them if they call again.
Received this several times in the past 2 days- I even answered it once to give them a piece of my mind- alas, no one was there. Do things from this board get forwarded to the FTC?
Just answered this they said they were Global Contact Services, operator name Sue Dent calling on behalf of Wells Fargo. I asked for their number she laughed saying she would look it up then hung up on me. We have a relationship with Wells Fargo, I plan on emailing a complaint asap.
Have received several calls from this number in past week. No message has been left on voicemail. I finally answered a call a few minutes ago and stated we're on the do not call list and asked to not be called again. The caller queried, "But are you a member of Wells Fargo?" I repeated, "DO NOT CALL" and ended call. I plan on contacting WF with a complaint.
Called on Friday 07-13-07 at 1640 hrs. I answered and a woman asked to speak with (used a name of an actual person who lives here). I said that the person was not at home and started to ask if I could take a message. But, the woman hung up on me. I checked the caller ID and found that we had received numerous calls from the same number. I called back and got the usual three tones...then "Your call cannot be completed as dialed" message.
Emailed Wells Fargo and got this response back from their customer service-"I checked the company name on the internet and they seem to be a legitimate company, however when I checked internally I was unable find that Wells Fargo is afilliated with them. If you feel they are not performing their telemarketing duties correctly, by all means do report them to the proper authorities. Please let me know if I can be of further assistance."This is definetly a scam.
