If you had a brain and did the reseach you would discover the the FTC is an Independent Agency. You would also find the the Act that began the FTC in 1912 was done by President Woodrow Wilson a democrat. I guess it is true what they say about liberals. They would rather call people names and attack them personally than debate on facts and truths. It is obvious to me after reading your tirate that you are ingorant to the facts or maybe you choose to just ignore them.
This caller has called several times. Messages were not left on my answering machine. Finally, we were able to answer the call. The caller wanted me but my fiancee stated I was not home. Twice ... the caller (different person each time) hung up with no info.Once my fiancee pretended to put me on the phone, the caller said he was representing Wells Fargo. No other info was given once the caller realized I was not on the phone.I called Wells Fargo this evening since I have a loan with them. The call center said that they have no record of any calls to me. The call center stated that any calls from a Wells Fargo agent would be accompanied with agent ID (a three digit code), if requested, that could be verified by recalling Wells Fargo. The call center believes that this is a scam to get my info and advised me to not provide info to this number.Additionally, Wells Fargo has NO numbers that show up as 888 123-4567 on caller ID. This is another reason to believe that this is a scam.BEWARE and provide no info to these scammers!
I have received numerous calls from 888-123-4567. I was told by my phone provider to go to the police and report it as harassment and that this phone # is a scam and was set up to act like you are calling yourself. No one is ever on the line and when they try to leave messages, it states the number you have dialed is not in service. Wells Fargo tries to call us too so it seems to all be related.
You're dumb to say "decent company" and that you received calls from their telemarketers in the same breath.
I am so fad up with this 888-123-4567, They call 4/5 times daily.I have reported three times with national do not call registry, but nothing is done.
I got a call from 1 888 123 4567. They did leave a message which they lied on their message and they are complete scam artist. I did get their number. So call them but first block your number. Then call 1 888 856 2020. When they pick up do not say a word or make a sound. Sometimes it will go into a message board. They will get upset just like we get upset. Keep calling them and do not say a word. But first block your number. It is one way to get back at these scums of human beings they are. Thank you.
I am glad I Googled this darn phone number! I have been receiving calls from this number (8881234567) w/ increasing frequency. I have never answered it, nor has the answering machine. It was getting kinda creepy, like being stalked by a ghost using a non-existent phone number (per 411-info, I think).
Well, I was stupid enough to answer the call. They claimed to work with banks to lower CC rates... after listening to their speal (sp?) I was gullible enough to give them my CC number as they stated they could not go further without it in looking up rates etc... I eventually told them no I was not interested and lo and behold... a few days later, someone was eating very well while traveling southeast starting in Atlanta and all the way to Orlando on my CC. Yep...my gullible little mind got taken... So... as you all stated, do not answer this call. or any number which comes in as unknown... I've lived and learned. Not so gullible today. This is a big scam with numerous people involved because I've answered the call in the past and just hung up on them with different people on the other end.
Received a scam call for downloading www.us01.twww.us01.tk. caller said he calls from Microsoft Company. He spoke English with Indian accent.
Called last night, but left no message.NEVER answer a call that has the exchange prefix starting with "0" or "1". So, although 210 is a valid area code for Texas, real phone numbers require the exchange (the next three digits beyond the area code) to start with 2-9 in the North American Numbering Plan Administration area (NANPA) which is the U.S. and Canada. So, 210-123-xxxx, 512-098-xxxx, 972-145-xxxx, even 888-188-xxxx, are ALL spoofed. (also 123-4567 ???... come on!)They're crooks! And these crooks are stupid just like a lot of other crooks: bank robbers who write their holdup notes on the back of their own, personal deposit slips; fugitives who get pulled over because they commit dumb traffic violations or who just don't bother registering their cars; shoplifters who walk out wearing stolen merchandise with the tags still showing. These crooks are sailing with their pirate flag raised; they dumbly chose an impossible number (more of a "red flag", really). If they have to resort to faking their phone number, you do NOT want to do business with them.
