FYI on that $15 gas card scam by Wells Fargo. A friend of mine who runs his own business from his home. He got a similar call. Although he is insured to the gills with his business he decided that anything that could help with his gas prices was worth a shot. When the package arrived he didn't think there was much urgency in looking at it. So it was several days before he finally did. When he contacted them to decline their offer he learned just how the scam worked. By not responding within 72 hrs of receiving his package he "authorized" them to bill him $20 for the cost of the package. So much for his "free" gas card!

But for those of us who are not WF customers? I've gotten as many as three calls a day -which I don't answer what with the caller ID saying "not provided" - and so has one of my neighbors. This needs to go to the proper law enforcement, either local police or sheriff's office or your state attorney general.

Not necessarily false number but one that is computer generated. I checked with my landline provider Embarq and they say the number has no registered owner.

I have received two calls today from 888-123-4567. I assumed it was a bill collector and I didn't answer. I'm going to block it with Call Intercept.

My wife received two call yesterday from this number. Both times they asked for me. They declined to leave a message, but said they would call back

calling our UNLISTED BUSINESS line AND our listed line at least 4 times a day each... is there nothing we can do? DNC and FCC said they would do something but it's been 2 months

repeated calls from this number. I do not answer them.

My mother answered the phone and handed it to me. It was very suspicious - they said they were calling from Bank of America to offer a complimentary life insurance for 10 days, and of course, they wanted me to verify my information. Yeah right! Now they won't stop calling and it is very annoying.

lol i picked the phone up.. and start cursing at them.. and started to say racist remarks.. heres what you can do.. make all your calls to divert to a cell number which you can leave on silent. Make your cell phone have an answering thing that says hello once!!... this will make the other line think that you picked up.,.. which is really just your voice mail :D .. i love to do this to annoy people.. not just these foolish telemarketers
