Caller ID read "Toll free call", and decided to screen the call, but the caller hung up when my answering machine kicked in.
they leave this number...but are calling from an unknown number...they leave no information why they called, but expect me to call back? I don't just randomly call people back unless they give me reason to...
Call them asap they are a collection agency.. the longer you wait to call them back the longer it will take for the problem to be fixed.
R.M.S - Collection Agency -Ask for a settlement. Accounts that they have for a long time they can get rid of at 50%.
Let me get this straight. People should ask R. M. S. Collection Agency for a settlement on an alleged debt that they do not owe? Plus the collection company is willing to settle for half of the alleged monies owed because so far, they have not been able to collect on the alleged debt. Furthermore, the simple fact that a representative from the collection agency is posting information on this string on this seems like the collectors for the company are already trying to harass and intimidate those people from which it is trying to collect. It is a good idea to know what collectors can and cannot due. Understand your rights when a debt collector calls. Google FDCPA it is the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
Thank you R M Rode!! Well put!! I thought those earlier posts seemed rather one-sided! My husband has been getting these BLOCKED calls (Caller id says "Out of Area") & they always have some BS sounding refrence # like 221 112 234.. and the debt itself is from many years ago when he was married to a shrew & it's been long gone & forgotten... anyways.. I think this "collection agency" uses almost any kind of tactic to get you to make JUST ONE payment so they can update the old debt to a active status & when you start questioning what's what they say, "Well why did you make a payment if it wasn't YOUR debt?" I also have heard that they will even try to falsify a debt that was not even yours!! SO BEWARE!!!!!

It is a legit PNC Bank phone no. I wrote out a $12000. check and they called to verify and had the last 3 digits of checking acct. on message.
