I know for a fact i just made this post and doubt there is another one word for word - so show me a link to this supposed duplicate post. This is my first time posting on this site - just trying to be helpful as I use it to check on spam calls I get.

This is a legitimate IRS number. Not saying i can't be spoofed though.I got a call and a message from a person I know is IRS.

Actually the IRS will call you

IRS offices exchange number...All calls from IRS offices in the southeast come through this "exchange" number... It is legitimately the IRS and have been dealing with them for years over a tax issue and they always call me back on this exchange number, even though the person calling from my local office is less than 2 mile away...

This is the IRS. This agent is harassing me named Kenneth [removed] (I encourage you to call and harass him like he has me and probably many others) He must have obtained my cell phone number I guess through the NSA who knows???... Calling me about an elderly very sick relatives taxes that I have NO control over. The IRS needs to be SERIOUSLY regulated and or ABOLISHED! This disgusting guy also called me at work!

On 10-09-14: I got a call from this number and did not answer it as I did not recognize the number. Seconds later I got another call, this time from a Texas area code, 806-786-6524. This person left a message calling herself Rita "Smith" from the IRS.She did not say what it was about, just for me to call her back at a later time as she was about to be out of the office. I googled the number and it was not an office number but a cell number. Grrrrrrr.....

I was called on my cell phone at 1:11 PM CST today (March 11, 2014) by a female identifying herself as the IRS.The number showing up on my cell phone’s caller ID display was (901)214-2999She said I had a delinquent account in the State of Alabama, she did not give me time to respond before she asked my name – I confirmed.She then stated my Social Security number – I replied that I do not make such disclosures by telephone.She then asked my home address.I asked what this was about – she said a delinquent account from the time I had lived in Alabama.I advised that I have NEVER lived in the State of Alabama.She said “we will continue our research” & hung up.

We got a call like this one but we did not answer it. When I looked up the number, I found this page....thank you for exposing this stuff! They need to take these people out.
